I was trying to plan out for the Spring and was wondering if you just wanted to remove the sealant and wax from your car, no swirl removal was necessary what woiuld you use? Is it a light polish like SSR1 or would you use a paint cleaner like AIO by itself. Not looking for the best product but the best method.

Thanks,
Howard

If no polishing is needed then a good paint cleaner will suffice. You might want to consider claying again too if it's been a while and then you can apply your LSP of choice. :)

Personally, I like Poorboy's Pro Polish for paint cleaning. A great paint cleaner that doesn't seem to get talked about much.

A light polish would work but I would use AIO or any polish that has a chemical cleaner if no defect removal is needed. I think Pinnacle, Wolfgang, Duragloss, etc. has a cleaner also.

Just did what you're about to do. The method should be WASH-CLAY-POLISH-PROTECT. It sounds like your concern is getting off the old protectant. It's said that the claying will take it off, but I never fully trusted that it would remove it evenly so I go back with a product like Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion(if no swirls), or AIO.

Thanks for the info. I knew the polish would work but I wasn't sure if it was necessary. I was thinking of using the least abrasive cleaner possible. Based upon AIO past posts I can't make head or tail if it is good or not.

Use your clay as you wash and then go over it with Pinnacle PCL. Dont know where you are but if you are anywhere that uses salt or chemicals on roads in winter, I would consider driving through a "spray" tunnel was that has undercarriage sprayers.

It's very good at cleaning, I use AIO as my base for everything.
