Pro's vs Joe's

Professional part time and hobbyist for my personal cars since Mrs. Pilot refuses to pay me.

Above average Joe, do family, friends and occasional co-worker or nieghbor etc for some extra cash. Been doing that way for quite a few years, have a metric ton of products so yes I have a problem that needs treatment. The GF/SO and my adult daughter think I'm nuts I'm so picky about stuff, passed this obsession on to my adult son who is in the automotive industry. Get a lot of unique cars for him to help on.

i have been a weekend warrior, however thanks to AG i am now an obsessed maniac ...... thanks AG ! the real question should be how many marriages AG has ended. I.E.
Wife : your gonna work on the car again ? you were at it for eight hours yesterday!
Me : but honey i did not finish yesterday and it drizzled last night and well i have to start over...we can't start our honey moon in a dirty car !!!

Ditto Bobby. I enjoy it too much to be doing it full time. Just say'in...

That's pretty well me. Only difference is Mrs. DLB's car is never home, so I have to detail it while running along side it on the road - therefore I don't get paid because I usually miss a spot or two... :D  (That's almost true though).

Just a hobby. Like many others I do family and friends vehicles when I am asked.

Just a hobby for me. Been detailing for about 7 years now, wife keeps telling me I'm not going to have any paint left. I guess not your average Joe, I do a very good job! The wife expects nothing less. :xyxthumbs:

I'm not a professional, I just play one on tv.

I'm simply a hobbyist who enjoys detailing to achieve a pristine looking car. To me it's a form of therapy: car, tunes, detail_products and time away from all the rat_race stuff.

Where did you buy your extension cord or do you it all by hand?

It's how I pay my bills so I guess I'm a pro, although I love what I do so is it really a job?!

Just as a hobby for myself here. Usually only my car, but sometimes a friend or family member's car rarely.

Just a Joe here but serious enough to fly to Stuart for the classes last week. Take care of my cars and family. Now, I know a little more about how to do it thanks to Mike, Nick and company. Great experience!

well said.

guess if I do it 6 days a week 8 hrs a day for a stealership and 3 days a week for a private shop and do the family cars on the 7th that makes me a certifiable detailing addict.

I'm not a pro but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

avg. joe here sometime somebody we'll have me do there car, but if it's real bad i wont even try. i don't have all the tool's and knowledge for those really bad cars.

Average Joe, weekend hobbyist with a passion for it. My goal is to be the best I can be at making my car SHINE! I'm surprised at the number of folks who are in my category. (hobbyist) I'm in the DC area.
