Blackfire Wet Diamond and Midnight sun review

Ok so here is a quick rundown of what I felt about these 2 products I got yesterday.
Lastnight I applied the Wet Diamond with a Crimson hydrotech pad on my GG DA. It went on easy and spread well and very little was used to cover the car. I probably used 2 pea sized drops per panel on the car..It went on thin and even. Removal was effortless it just came off with a slight wipe of the MF towel. It did dust a very little bit here and there but nothing that I would call any issue or problem. a quick pass with my wool duster and it was gone. It left the car nice and slick and a nice wet look.
Today I came home from work and went out to put on Midnight Sun. I was basically gonna compare this to Fuzion since thats the main stuff I normally use. Jars are the same size so you can easily fit the small spot buffing pads in it. I used my polishing pal with my red CCS foam pad just like I do with Fuzion and my rolled edge cobra towels as well.
It spread almost like Fuzion. It didnt seem to spread as far with as little. Removal is no where near like fuzion. It was very grabby with my towel, it took some effort to get it off as it left behind an oily streaky film on my hood that I had to get off with a QD. I would say Fuzion and Soveran are MUCH easier to work with.
The look it gives with the combo is a nice deep wet black look on my car. I am not sure if I can say it is much different at all looking then Fuzion but it wasnt as easy to work with.

Dang....... I usually don't like Mustangs (as I'm a Chevy guy), but your Mustang just makes me :drool:. I love it. I just got my BFWD in today. I plan to try it this weekend. Nice review! :props:
 
thanks..I like the Wet Diamond much more then the Midnight sun. It was easier to work with

nope..only sealant I have used before was Wolfgang.

With the Midnight Sun I like to do a few (3) panels and then go back and wipe off the one I started with. It makes it A LOT easier for me.
 
i will try that next time I use it..I read few times they say remove right away and the jar also says to remove right away.

Midnight sun is a wowo wax where Fuzion is a wax/sealant hybrid which would explain why it can be left on for a longer time. I did the full fire over ice process a couple of weeks ago and it looked fantastic on my Frontier. I always follow the instructions on a product especially if I'm using it for the first time. That's not a bash just friendly advice.
 
Tell whoever owns that Camaro that since they own a CGM Camaro they need to powdercoat their rims black. Thanks :props:

Ok the next thing to do is sneak them. When he is out of town, go over to his house, put the car on cinderblocks and sent the wheels away. Then put them back on before he gets home. See if he even notices.

A lot of people have said that the midnight sun takes away some of the slickness of the wet diamond. Did you encounter this? The way the MF glides over the paint when wiping away the BFWD is just crazy slick... me likey.

Absolutely gorgeous! My only question is durability or how long will the finish protection last?

I've read on the old pac forum that BFWD lasts at least 4 months and midnight sun lasts 3 months so it's quite a combination.

cant really answer that one..as I didnt feel the paint to much after I did the WD..it still feels prety slick after Midnight sun. I think next time I might just do WD and thats it.

Give midnight sun a fair shot, you won't be sorry. In fact do the entire fire over ice process, it takes time, but the results are fantastic.
 
Midnight Sun is a pain to remove if applied by hand. You'll never get it thin enough by hand. After only doing a roof by hand with MS the first time I used it, I will NEVER apply it by hand again. Get a red LC flat pad (not the hydrotech crimson, the super soft red one) and take the wax out of the jar by turning it over and tapping on the bottom like you would with ketchup. Then apply a very thin even layer of wax to the pad, then apply to your car on speed 2.5-3 with your machine. The Midnight Sun then wipes off very easily.

Midnight Sun does takes away from the slickness of BFWD but it really helps cut down on the amount of static you get from the BFWD.
