Some of you may have seen my slight rant in alko's Happy Friday thread, so here are the pics.

I only got a couple shots. Not that the car is perfect, it has a few rock chips here and there, but it really irritates me when people have no respect for your property. Keep in mind this is the only day the car has been driven this week, covered and garaged M-Th. AARGH!

Look at how close they are to other cars also.

Next time I hope they choose a leaf blower over the mowers to clean leaves, grass etc off the parking lot.

What did they say when you approaced them about the situation?

I haven't talked directly with the company. Since this happened on my companies property it will go through the person who manages the contracts etc. Our security group took down the information etc.

It's probably a good thing I didn't approach them directly because it wouldn't have been pretty. I'm usually pretty mild mannered, until it comes to my car.

I've sent these same pics to security and the contract manager, just waiting to hear back from the, however, security made it sound like I would have to go through my own insurance, which won't be worth it $$ wise.

Don't worry, I plan to raise plenty of hell if needed.

This just in, literally while I'm typing this. Head of Chicagoland HSSE (health, safety, security, environment) was at our building for something else, was made aware of this situation and is not happy. Now there's some weight behind this so to speak.

You can tell the marks are fresh. Good luck on getting this resolved

Sounds like a big shot showed up to work. Better jump off the forum untill they leave ;)

Pure laziness! This kind of stuff just aggravates me when I see this happen, maybe cause I have my own lawn care business and respect for people's property. It won't take that much more time to do the job right with a backpack blower! I sure hope one of those guys isn't the owner of the lawn care biz.

They need to watch themselves. They've had a few issues with driving violations etc already on our properties, they keep this kind of crap up and they'll loose the contract, and that's a lot of ground to loose (excuse the pun).

Once I got off work I was able to give the car a more thorough inspection. I your opinions, would you say these are fresh?

Look pretty fresh to me.

Go at 'em. Not sure what the head of Chicagoland HSSE is but if it helps ur cause that's always a good step.

I would be very mad if that happened to my car!!!!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk so please excuse any grammatical errors

They look pretty fresh to me too.

I had a friend that went through something similar a couple years ago and suggested I take blue painters tape and put one at every chip\mark that was made and photograph that, so here we go.

Thats terrible Dave

If I were you I would order Dr Colorchip and use the insurance check for Christmas

Don't want to stir the pot here .... But how can you "prove" they did it?
I'm guessing your saying those are rock chips? And can leaves/branches do that? A rock would have shattered your window and the leaves/branches typically get shredded to pieces... Just curious as to what angle you would be taking
Thx

I was sitting in the car, about to get out. They weren't "rocks" per say but those little pebbles. You could hear them hitting the car. Also considering it was only maybe three weeks since he car a full ext detail I knew pretty much every existing rock chip, none were that high. Plus, the car has been covered and in the garage since the detail.

As flash said, I may end up just having to touch them up, however, this landscaping company shoul held accountable. Bit this slides, what's to say next time it's not going to be person that gets hit with this stuff, or what's going to prevent them from taking someones front bumper with their snowplows come winter? Ok, ok the snowplow thing might be a bit extreme but you get the point.

No to mention had I parked perhaps 1 minute early it would have been my body catching that crap!

dude I would have immediately gotten out of the car and been like YO WTF IMABEATYOASS!
Now I'm going to put my adjuster hat on... This seems to be a case of "damage caused and noticed after the fact"... If I hired a AC guy to come repair my AC and he does so and leaves the area in what appears to be the same condition he found it in and a week later I go to change the AC filter and the door falls off the hinges I can't blame the AC guy since he was technically the last person to close the door... There are to many variables... If I was your adjuster I could say YES those appear to be rock chips and yes they could have been caused by our landscaping guy but they could have also been caused by a gravel truck who was on the highway at your 11oclock and you got sprayed... I think the fact that you didn't go right out there is going to be hard to "prove"... Just my two cents

Does reporting it to the security guard that was standing right there and having them take a report help matters at all?

That would be called HERESAY

I always thought someone who saw what happened was an eye witness. Oh well I'm done debating that point.

For anyone curious, here's a picture of he parking lot where it happened. Really no reason for him to have the cutting blades engaged on the pavement. Please note when first pulled in and was parking the car the guy was clear against the back curb, I tried to avoid him!

Just thought I'd provide a quick update, just received this email (note I removed last name\company name), but it looks like perhaps one of the owners will be contacting me.

Hi David -

Mike Wxxxxxx from Wxxxxxx Landscaping will be in contact with you to discuss the issue below.

I'll keep you posted.

You contacted the security company, which as you said, is protocol for something like this. I'd print out a copy of this thread, just for something that references the dates this all happened.

Dave,

Do you work in that Cookie Monster-looking building? lol
