Review: CarPro Eraser

Yes, as noted in my "does eraser remove sealants section" (with video) it didn't remove the sealant I tested it with. It is meant for use after the polishing step at which time there is no sealant left. I did find it t remove wax though. I'm sure it depends on the wax but it worked in my test.

When you used 3/4 of the bottle are you talking about the sample bottle (50ml)?

No not the sample bottle. I wanted to use enough to get eveything off of the paint since it was initially being prepped for OC 2.0 and yet not over do it. In their video they sprayed quite a bit more than I. I did like they did on a couple of sections, but then switched over to misting like a QD. Just to note, glass and wheels were done as well.

I'm definitely going to buy more, as I chickened out on the OC this time, except for the glass and wheels.

Love your reviews btw. Always seem very unbiased, and I like that.:props:

Bob, the MSDS says it contains about 30% ipa, 60% deionized water, lauryl sulfate, proprietary scent, and I think there was one other non hazardous component if I recall correctly.

Thank you very much for this information Corey....it is most helpful!!!

I now can understand more clearly that.....

Between:

-Water....The universal solvent;
-IPA......Known for its solvent properties and high evaporation rate; and
-(Sodium) Lauryl Sulfate.....Well-known for its use as a surfactant, foaming and thickening agent, degreaser, oils/stain remover in many, many, many cleaning products

.....How CarPro's Erasure product can be lauded, and, therefore used for its intended purpose with excellent results.

Also:

Where/Why Avi placed/ranked Erasure on the proposed:

"Solvent Scale":

{RE: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/42331-eraser-vs-ipa-video-3.html}

-Toluene: 10/10
-Benzene: 9/10
-Butyl Alcohol: 8/10
-Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK): 7/10
-Acetone: 6/10
-Denatured alcohol (Ethanol): 5/10
-Mineral Spirits (Stoddard Solvent): 4/10
-Isopropyl alcohol (IPA): 3/10
-Ethylene Glycol: 2/10
-Distilled Water: 1/10

Bob
I would say :
Isopropyl alcohol (IPA): 3/10~4/10

Thanks again Corey....I won't be bothering anyone about Erasure's properties/ingredients anymore....that is, until I purchase said product. :D
