Found one Walmart in my area with the Meguiar's gift pack for ten dollars today. But no new products yet.

Was at Walmart in Edison a couple nights ago and remembered this thread.

Looks like they have stocked most of the new spring stuff - Surf City, Zymol, Megs (new Gold Class consumer stuff etc.) (didn't see any Pro Mirror Glaze/Detailer line)

Oh yeah, they got Mothers VLR now :)


I did see 105/205 at Autozone and Pep Boys in Edison - Pep Boys seems to have re-stocked new car care for spring 2012 pretty much like what Walmart got.

I too would like to see which Walmarts get the pro stuff

According to info elsewhere Newton only. FWIW the two Targets I've been in lately have been completely cleaned out of MF's...looks like they have not stocked for spring yet, which is to be expected since it's still February for a few more hours.

Yeah went to that Walmart couple days ago and saw same thing. The new Zymol stuff looks interesting.

What are the prices of M105/205 at Autozone? You should also check out Pal's automotive detailing shop, its couple minutes from the DMV.

Autozone prices were actually quite competitive. 205 was going for around $25 and 105 i think around $30. I don't remember if i saw the shurhold polisher as i heard some Autozones were carrying this too. I think i would try the Zymol stuff, The cleaner wax looks like it's still made by Turtle Wax, it has the Illinois address on back still but the soap, detailer and spray wax, have the zymol florida address in back.

Re: PAL Automotive, yeah that's close to me and Mark is an interesting fellow. I go in from time to time for Megs Pro Gallons like Wheel Brightener etc. or collinite and they now have 5.5 inch B&S pads which i like very much and also Purple foam wool.

That's interesting that that's the only one so far. Oh well, i've ordered a bunch of Optimum MF pads anyway but it's good to know they're out there.

Yeah, well, don't worry about it, I don't think Newton is a hotbed of polisher activity, so I doubt they will be expanding this program next year.
 
I still think they would have been better off maybe supplying through an auto parts store (PepBoys/Autozone/AdvanceAP...etc..) but in any case it looks like what you can get locally is pretty respectable now and can only get better.

Yeah I go about once a month to see if he gets anything new. Last thing I picked up from there was Wonder Wafers. Everything is a little over priced but it's good place to pick something up in a hurry.

Yeah, some Lexus guy was supposed to ask him if he would host some sort of detail day for us (hint, hint).
 
^ I gave it a try, he said he hosted one back couple years ago for Meguairs. Meguairs used his space and had people come in for class. He provided food and drinks, when class was over everyone left and didn't buy anything from him. Which was wrong of the people who participate in the class. He said he not going do another one because he will get screwed over.

Yeah, nobody bought anything...Beercan bought a PC, a Cyclo, AND a rotary...but no one bought anything. All it cost him was some coffee and pizza since he's open on Sat. morning anyway, and he got 30 potential customers. I know I bought a foam gun there, I can't remember if that was before or after that class. I guess we weren't the kind of customers he wanted.

Plus, if I'm remembering right, the next year he did an "advanced class" that you had to pay for, in advance, so I'm sure he made out alright on that.

Ha, you know i actually attended that session as well, so you there too Setec? Remember the Meg's Black SUV? that the fellow (don't remember his name) tested products on for us. I don't really remember too much other than helping clay Mark's Explorer .... i did buy a few items.. gallon of Hyper dressing.. don't remember really.. i can't say i had the best time there.
 
Yeah Mark is an interesting character. I was surprised when he told me that after I asked if he can host a small meet for us. I'm guessing he does most of his business with local dealerships and wants us to buy gallons of Auto Magic.
 
Yeah, I was there...Bill D trying to use the rotary on the panel he brought with him...the Meg's guy was...from MD...darn...it will come to me...ok, I cheated and looked it up...Rod Kraft.

EDIT: was just looking at the pics on the Meg's forum...forgot what everyone looked like...especially that guy that looked like Beavis after he took the no-doze...

Well I talked to a friend, and he said that we can have a small meet at his father warehouse. Only problem was he didn't like the idea of inviting strangers hanging around there. He has a faucet for water outlets and bathroom. I'm going see if I can convince him, everyone can chip in some money to use his space/water/electric/bathroom.

I don't blame him, I wouldn't want a bunch of strangers around my place either. Just go to the Meg's forum and search on "Piscataway" and you'll get the advanced class from 2005 too.
