So, i received my Chinchilla Microfiber along with my CG v7 on monday. Came home from school early and washed my car. Brought out the v7 and the chinchilla to "boost" the Black Light. First off, v7 makes a very noticeable difference. I can definitely see my reflection better.

Now to the problem, my chinchilla leaves lint EVERYWHERE! When it is a bit wet (which is everytime due to the v7), its like shedding lint/fibers like crazy! it is super soft, but it took me longer to apply v7 bc of the lint problem then it did to wash and dry my car! Very frustrating.

I know on the review, it states that the chinchilla does not leave lint, but does anyone else have this issue? Maybe i should have just used my cobra deluxe jr instead.

*side note, xmt 360 spray wax is MUCH slicker than v7, but i haven't compared the gloss yet.

Did you wash the towel before you use it? You should always wash new MF towels before you use them.

I actually didnt wash it first. I usually do wash the cheap walmart mf before i use them due to the lint issue, but i thought with these quality ones, it wouldn't need to. I tend to shake/fluff (not sure of the right word) to see if any lint/fibers fly around before i use it, and it didnt. My cobra deluxe jr were fine without a wash first.

I guess i can try and wash it first. Try it again tomorrow to see if it leaves any or as much as it did today.

I would try to wash before jumping to any conclusions. I have a bunch of chinchillas and after washing them none of them have linted.

do you machine dry your mf towels or do you air/hand dry them? I use to machine dry my walmart mf and the texture changed so i just started hanging my deluxe jr.

i tumble them dry with no heat. usually take 2 go arounds.

Those cheap towels get all messed up with laundering. I have never had any problems with machine drying good towels, even on high.

Walmart mf towels are for interior, door jams, etc only. Not used on the exterior paint.

machine drying high for mf? hmm...i only have 1 chinchilla and 3 deluxe. Don't know if i really want to try.

Using a plush towel with something wet like a spray sealant will always lint.

Suit yourself. I have hundreds of good towels and I always wash hot and dry on high.

didnt someone post saying the chinchillas are different from when they first came out. when i got mine it did not lint at all even without washing. washing it once made it grab up liquid faster however. maybe your using too much product i notice with some towels they do lint when the surface is too damp . try less product do a spray while moving arm fast about 6-10" away from panel *depends on if its windy or not* and do 2 swipes per panel and stop spraying when you reach end of each panel ect. i do that and have no problem linting and i wash my microfibers on hot water and dry on medium heat setting and have no problems at all. really hot like steam can deform/melt the fibers.

Send your defective Chichillas to me! I will see to it that they go to a good home. :D

Try giving them an extra wash and several extra rinses. See if that doesn't get rid of the extra lint.

My first attempt, two quick spray on the MF and one quick spray on 1/3 of the hood. Very grabby and left lint all over, but as the v7 flashed off, a lot easier to wipe and took away the lint. My initial thought was maybe i used too much product too.

So I flipped the MF to the dry back side, one spray on the MF and wipe on (how the CG video shows). Still, very grabby and left same amount of lint/area, although it did flash much faster which made me able to buff off the lint faster and easier.

Flipped MF over once more to a new dry side and instead of spraying the v7 on the MF, i did a mist on the panel and tried spreading it that way. Same result. Still linted.

I just hand washed the chinchilla earlier and it's hang drying in my closet. No school friday so ill try using it with v7 again to see if it lints up or not.

this is great... i went all out on chinchilla towel just the other day......................

Chinchilla MF towels are super soft! Probably (hopefully) is just user error (me). It didn't get all the awesome reviews for nothing. Got to try it out to really know.:xyxthumbs:

Mine linted too when using anything wet. I just use them for final wipe now.

I can't stand linting!

anyone use the latest batch for rinseless washing yet?

My worry is that in the rush to restock, the latest batch went down in quality from the first set that were reviewed favourably and sold out so quickly...

I guess the only way to know is a direct comparison between the first batch and the latest stuff to come in...

That sucks if the new batch quality really went downhill....
Since i just bought like a decent amount of there towels my last order... and is gonna get to me tomorrow.....

the quality MUST have gone down. I have owned chincillas for months now from another vendor that was the first to supply them in the US. the towels i had NEVER ever linted. it was litterally impossible to make them lint, short or ripping the MF apart. wet, dry, damp, soaked, they NEVER lint. and are incredibly absorbent.

while I do agree that I rather enjoy using a very short nap (all purpose) towel for anything wet on finished (clean) paint, the chincillas were basically fool-proof beside absorbing a lot of the product before they were primed.
