The most over-rated products?

Davey,

I haven't really used 845. Why do you feel it's overrated?

Personally, it doesn't last nearly as long as some people here claim it does. It only lasts about a month and a half before the beading REALLY goes dead. It's a great wax but I don't buy into the hype that it lasts six months. My car is garaged and in the shade most of the time so the sun is not the cause of the premature wax failure.

845 is just "blah" to describe it. It works and last a while but it lacks shine, depth, and wetness. For a wax I expect those things. Thing is you can't beat the price.

durability of waxes is the only thing that push me to coat my car with cquartz to end my addiction towards waxing my car once a month lol

Ya, I like 845 too, one of the few products I bought that I really did not have to study to realize I liked it.

I recently purchased DODO juice tyromania and was really dissapointed.Especially because of how much it cost.I'll stick to Meg's endurance tire shine.I do feel however that the DODO waxes are underated.I love 'em and am going to pop for the big sizes w/ my next order.

Yeah I'm a dodo nut and tyromania is not that great. I think they just wanted to do something different but it didn't work out. Smells good though. Lol

Cobra towels
These all work fine but don't think they worth the price, especially the waxes from wolfgang and pinnacle lines. As long as you do any 50/50 comparison with other much cheaper waxes, you see no difference!

another thing overrated: Meguiar's MF pads
I'm sure many won't agree with me. I had bad luck it with the cutting and polishing pads. at first i thought it's just me, then I found I am not the only one not happy with those pads. many people just don't say it. it also turned out many people there swear this is the best system in the world, but they just heard it or saw other people recommending it, not really tried it themselves.

I am sure those pads are still great, but just overrated and maybe not as fantastic as most ppl say

Explain in detail why. Please don't answer..."because it's shiny and cool"

I think its looks are decent enough. might not last 6 months but over 3 or 4 easy depending on what part of the year its applied. Is priced good and a little goes a long way so even more cost effective. Very easy to apply and pretty easy to remove for me. Doesnt stain trim. I jst really like using it and like the company.

How is the MF system over rated??

Any wax that costs +$60 and also any sealant that costs +$40.

I'd have to agree with the people who mentioned 845. It isn't that it's a bad product, but all the praise can make you think that it's the end-all, be-all of waxes, which it isn't. Looks are overly bright and reflective for my tastes, I've had water-spotting issues with it, and while it has reasonable durability, it isn't "the most durable wax" that some people make it out to be - its Collinite brethren, 915 and 476, outstrip it in that department, as do some other products.

Davey,

It's not a BAD product in my opinion, I just don't buy into the hype. I have used it multiple times and never gotten more than 4 months out of it, and that is pepping with wipe downs and so on. Also, I don't think it looks all that great, and it can be a paint to remove. Again, not a bad product, I just have many other product that I like more.

Have you even tried any of those products? It's obvious you haven't if you have that opinion about them....
Agreed. The day I tried Swissvax concorso it changed my life.

Seriously.
