The Speedy Surface Prep Towel is essentially a microfiber towel with a high-tech polymerized rubber coating applied to one side. This polymerized rubber coating grabs above surface contaminants and pulls them away from the surface, leaving you with contaminant-free paint. As a detailing enthusiast, you should know that shiny paint comes from clean paint!

A traditional detailing clay bar will yield 10-20 uses, depending on how contaminated the surface is. The Speedy Surface Prep towel will provide up to 100 applications, making it far more cost effective in the long run when compared to traditional detailing clay bars. Yes I used one for the first time on the last weekend. I went much faster and my hand didn't have the claw from folding the clay, plus just rinse off if dropped. I really have nothing bad to say about it and see no reason to pick up a clay bar again.
 
OMG YOU GUYS GOT IT RIGHT AFTER I MADE MY ORDER...... kinda angry about that LOL cause I only order if I see some stuff on sale that I really like (which isn't too often... right now just waiting on a souveran paste sale since i jumped on the fuzion)
I hear really good things about this, and especially since you guys have the fine grade (which wasn't available before), definitely something great for a hobbyist like myself.

I wonder what causes the 'rubber' to stick/stay-stuck to the
MicroFiber-material...Almost resembles one of those fabric:
"Spray-on PlastiDip processes" (not saying that's a bad thing).

Wonder how many times this prep-towel is washable/reusable (if any)?

SSP towels works very well. You MUST break it in and I wouldn't recommend it initially on soft black paint. It causes more marring than clay, but I really don't mind since I always polish after.

Definitely a time saver over clay, but may not be cost effective for some.
 
So if the vehicle has a lot of surface contaminates and all 4 sides of the towel get's completely covered, do you just rinse it off and continue use? Basically to the effect of "kneading the clay"?

Good point and just to add, most cars are clear coated, so you're never really working on "black" paint or "red" paint.

So anything that is "showing" marring on soft clear over black paint will be marring soft clear over any color of paint it's just going to be harder to visually detects. This little tidbit is something most people never think about and no one else ever points out.

That's why the only really good tests are on black paint because black shows everything. If a product is making black paint look good then it's making all paint look good. If a product isn't making black paint look good then it's not making any color of paint look good.

Of course the monkey wrench in all this is paint systems vary, that is the "clear" top coat varies from car to car and even from year to year as paint technology is ALWAYS changing.

I'm in the camp that if you're going to clay, it should be with the assumption that you're going to follow the claying process with machine polishing to ensure you remove any marring, or even micro-marring inflicted during the claying process or now the Speedy Towel process.

This is very similar to the Ultima and CG clay block substitutes.....except it's 4 times the price.

The pros are that it lasts longer than traditional clay, it can be cleaned if it is dropped or gets heavily contaminated.

The cons are it tends to mar more than clay on softer paint, and the price is pretty high considering the same thing can be had in block for for $15.

Arguably the towel has a much bigger surface area, and can be flipped to 4 sides, so you get a lot more throughput (faster and much more car surface covered before you have to rinse the towel vs. the block).
