BEST trim coating ever. Seriously. you can actually let the product set longer on plastics before removing.

Re: Video & Pictures - GTechniq Makeover - 2012 Scion tC 7.0

Im going to share another tip. ALWAYS be aware of where your rag is touching when doing small details like the mirrors or trim moldings. The residue can transfer and be left behind without catching it. Always have a fresh rag to buff the treating area and surrounding areas

Yes 12 hours would be optimal. 3 is the quickest and in professional opinion it's rushing

Re: Video & Pictures - GTechniq Makeover - 2012 Scion tC 7.0

can be HIGHLY diluted and smells like strawberrries or cherries

Wait til she washes it. She will be so happy because it's super easy. No more yellow headlights!

Lastly, once coated DO NOT take to an automatic car wash. Maintain the coating the paint is now under it indefinitely

A big thank you to Yancy and Sean!

We just finished buffing out the rest of the car and then applying the G1 to the paint. The owner is here so I'm going to present the car to her and then shut down the garage for the night.

I have som hi res pictures to share tomorrow and another final video where walk around the car so everyone can see how glossy the paint looks.

All the process and after shots have been added to the first page of this thread.

I also took a video showing how glossy the paint came out and it's in the first post of this thread.

Re: Video & Pictures - GTechniq Makeover - 2012 Scion tC 7.0

What type of pad do you recommend?

For "pad" do you mean the applicator pads we applied Gtechniq products?

If so, we used the small round applicator pads that come with the product. If and when we run out I purchased some Publix brand make-up applicators, the small, soft round ones.

The thing you run into with coatings like this is you don't want to use an applicator that will soak up a lot of the product because it simply goes to waste.

So you want a small applicator that's not thick and won't absorb a lot of product but as it relates to the paintwork, it must be soft so it won't cause marring.

:)

great Job Mike et al, and Excellent work Yancy!

Thanks Steve and on behalf of Yancy, Jeff, Jeff and Rene, thank you also, it's always a team effort around here...

The owner Nickie and her husband were both blown away. Nickie's husband works at a car dealership and claims to have detailed a few cars in his life and he said it didn't look this good when they bought it brand new.

It truly does look just as good in person as it does in the pictures I posted...
