Re Frankenstorm Sandy

Well, it's been blowing and raining all day. We have had a few gusts but to tell you the truth it's like I said.....the numbers just don't add up for the MONSTER storm everyone's been predicting....:dunno:

Bunker down everyone up north, been through some storms, joys of living in South Florida. Have some friends up north and this is what I have been seeing come across my lines of social media.

Holy cow!
Ronald McDonald back strokin' toward the door

It's 6pm and has been windy and rainy all day. Sandy is due to hit Atlantic City any minute now. I live 30 miles west of Atlantic City and getting ready for the heavy rain and winds. So far so good.

A little gusty here but haven't needed the generator that's chained to the front porch yet. See what it's like by morning. Stay safe and warm guys and gals.

I would agree from a MA perspective.

I thought the concern was more the size and flooding more than the wind force.

I know our biggest concern here in the DC Metro area is supersaturated ground and trees tipping over on stuff. Doesn't take much to knock a tree down when mud is the only thing anchoring it.

Thankfully all the "weak ones" toppled during the derecho.

Wow, those are amazing photos! Thanks for sharing them!

Some of those are fakes or at least not from this storm.

-I must have misguided priorities...

-Sorry...But my concern is, and always has been, with the potential sufferings caused by the loss
of Human Lives during any climatic-event---irregardless of its actual or perceived severity.

-What's an acceptable number for that?

Some gusting winds and rain. But luckily I haven't been hit that hard.

It looks like it did get pretty bad for some out there and I'm fortunate to have been spared much of what I'm looking at this morning....

Be safe...

Hope everyone is doing good, getting some crazy wind and rain from sandy up here in Michigan. Gotta say, my gtechniq g1 clear vision is working like a charm though through the rain, couple that with this wind and it's blowing all the water right off my windows and never even using the wipers ;) but seriously stay safe all who are battling the brunt of it!

This photo really says it all, the water is just rushing over the construction area at the World Trade Center location!
You have to truly feel for all of those effected by Sandy.

I'm in SE PA & it seems the worse of it has passed its just a bit windy now. Luckily I didn't loose any power but last night @ 4am it was nasty and it felt like the windows were going to blow in.

Anyone without power?

No power lost here. We lucked out here in Waterford Township! Feel bad for those not as lucky.

The damage to my different family members on the Jersey Shore is devastating.:nomore:

New Jersey and New York appear to have taken the lions share of Hurricane Sandy. My thoughts and prayer go out to all of you.....
