Official Invitation to MIKE PHILLIPS! - Accepted!

To all of you involved with this project I just wanted to say I was in AWWWW!!! the whole time I was there. And I can't thank you enough for all that I learned the short time I was there. what little bit I could be there has sparked a new intrest in real, high end detailing. I have always enjoyed seeing how nice I can make thing look. This goes back to when I used to wax my bike and wagon when I was little. thanks again.

Listen to the Doctor chat with Bruno......there was mention that the 390/4 speed had to go in something......mmmmmm

and the wax still needs to be put on the car.....mmmmm

who is not busy in 90 days????? oh, and it will be warmer then Paul...

I think with a little cutting and torching you could stuff that 390 into the Vega tucked around the corner of your shop.

The AMX was built in Kenosha, not Detroit BTW. As far as that Vega goes, well its not exactly a cheap idea but that didn't stop the entire AMX project from going down, so why not get the Ecotec out of the new Caddy ATS and 6 speed and put it in there! The whole LS1 into everything is getting boring IMO, so go outside the box to net a result that's truely cool and unique!!

Now as far as the next step for the AMX, it was mentioned it needs waxing in 90 days and it would be warmer by the end of March....is this an invite? If so, how many peple are going to show up for this one? I might be able to make the trip down I-80 to help out. This story is so epic that I'd like to get involved myself. A little trip down the road in my hybrid is no sweat. I recently got a can of Fuzion too, so a quality product for a n epic car that produced one of the most epic stories I've ever heard of, let's keep the goodwill going and going.

Has anyone thought about doing a complete photoshoot and documenting it with pictures here, along with great writing to go along with it yet? Better yet, how about My Classic Car doing an entire half hour segment on the car and the even more epic story that goes along with it, surely Dennis has never heard of such an amazing story himself in all the years of doing his show. Heck, it should atleast go into some of the leading car mags for sure, get this amazing car and its epic story into publication so the masses can read about it, its a story that needs to be told, especially with how things are in the world nowadays, an epic story that's truely unbelieveable is something the world needs right now! Another show idea is Car Crazy, just saw one where they went to Brazil, so Nebraska is a bit closer, LOL! I'm sure Barry would appreciate the "pashion" that went into building this car but when he hears about the epic story that's behind it that would be enough to push him over the edge and make the show, then all the good will that went into it, people coming from far away out of the goodness of their heart to make this project so special, its gotta get out there as this has touched so many people out there!

Hope something comes out of all this for sure!

Yeah... I use the term "Detroit Iron" as a generic term for American made steel cars Pre mid-70's but thanks for clearing that up.

I'll send Sheila the link to the Time Lapse Capture video when it's posted, they plan their shows our pretty far in advanced...

I think he would appreciate it, not sure it fits his schedule though...

The TV world moves pretty fast...

Great ideas though...

:)

The Vega has some other good plans......just one of many projects going on in that place....

Yeah it would really be awesome if this epic story with all its amazingness could make it to TV, I mean, they had one whole season of "South Beach Classics" and those cars and cast are hacks at best, this is the polar opposite! Noone went down to Miami out of the goodness of their hearts to do anything there, AG did and then some!

Ben painted the car on Saturday, December 1st correct?

If we use December 1st as the start day for the paint job, then 90 days out would be the last day of February.

Although the paint manufacturer recommends 90 days air cure before sealing the paint most people wait about 30 days, so even if we sealed the paint a week or two early it would probably be okay. That is as long as we have Ben the painter's blessing.

I knew there was going to be a sequel to the epic story, good thing there hasn't been a seperate thread with just pics and descriptions of the process, now a finishing process by the crew at AG! I was willing to make the trip down I-80 in the spring but with the invite being sent out to the original crew I'm going to just step back and watch this unfold as I'm small time compared to the people who flew out of the goodness of their hearts with all the experience, expertice and ability to do the job to the best of their abilities and besides, why mess with perfection. This epic story will be complete when the crew comes back (we can all only hope!) And finishes the car in its complete form, a reveal we're all going to look forward to for sure! This is surely going to end up TV now, right?!

......if you have a problem and if you can find them, maybe you can hire....THE A TEAM!

Sensei.....makes me think of Napolean Dynamite....BOW TO YOUR SENSEI!

Can't wait to see the finished product and if we canKt get this epic story on TV or in print, maybe a trophy of some kinda is in order, no ribbons either, especially 9th pllace ribbons...."I didn't know they made 9th place ribbons".

What process are you guys thinking about to finish this car out with, just curious.
