Zymol Ital, my new favorite

I've been intrigued by Carbon and Glasur as well. Carbon for some dark colors. And Glasur's consistency would seem like it'd be very easy to apply, but don't really want to spend that much unless a deal comes up. Was wondering if anybody could compare these 2 to ones from here like Souveran, Fuzion, and the other offerings in the $50-100 range?

I can compare some of them. I'll just start off by saying I think Fuzion looks the best and is the easiest to apply. If you get Fuzion its all you will need. It really is my favorite, and its worth every cent. Buy it on sale or discount.

Souveran and Glasur are close, the edge going to Souveran for looks and ease of use (by a hair), but to Glasur for durability. P21S 100% is another one I like in this range.

I have Glasur. I know what you mean when you say it's enjoyable to apply. It just feels expensive. It's a great wax with great durability.

What kind of durability are you experiencing, and in what conditions? Better than Fuzion?

Cool. Thanks a lot for the analysis. Hopefully they have a Fuzion deal like they did prior to Christmas again sometime this year. I'll probably pull the trigger on it then. Since I"m still in college I didn't want to spring for it yet, especially since I got a 3401 to see what that was like. In a couple months when I get a real job I'm definitely seeing a Souveran, Zymol wax, Fuzion, or something in that range just to try. Such an addicting hobby

Maybe you can pick up a mini Fuzion on sale.

I could. I'm not really in the market for one yet though. Plan on getting a new truck in a few months and I'll probably purchase something then. Not worth it now for my current one. Plus, I'd rather just get the free refill anyway. That makes it a really good deal if they have it for $100 again

If you liked Ital and Glasur, you really should try and track down some Swissvax Onyx, or if you really want an insane gloss/durability combo - grab the concourso - by far my favorite paste wax I have.

Zymol tends to have a 25% off sale every quarter or so - I bought my Glasur for $75 :)

Looks like I'll have to be on the lookout for that. Thanks man. Might have to go for the Glasur then if there's some extra funds laying around

A friend of mine gave it to me. Not sure how he got it. One of my professions is a firefighter so that is the reason i want to make it into decor.

I'm a firefighter also, I thought you might be after seeing the hydrant, not to many people have hydrants in the house only firefighters lol

Yeah I figured why the hell not! It must weigh close to 200 lbs

Every time I see a discussion regarding over $50 wax I can cry ( or laugh ). Not one of these are worth the money.

Have you really tested the result against less expensive wax? With a really good polish job the top coat ( other from a duribltiy stand point ) make no real difference.

It seems that I went into the wrong business. One can sell almost anything to car buffs.

Too bad.

The difference is subjective, you will never be able to "prove" it. However, that doesnt mean it's not real or "worth it". There are a ton of products out there like this:

-all wine is made with grapes, so why not just buy the stuff in the cardboard box?

- All jeans are made of denim, so why not just buy the pair at K-Mart?

- All soap will get you clean, so why not buy the store brand?

IMHO if you live like that life is very dull. If you only purchase items that you can "prove" are less than cheaper items - you will just end up with a bunch of cheap stuff.

Ive use $15 waxes (Nattys / Megs / Zymol OTC liquid) and I've use $100+ waxes (Zymol, Fuzion, Souveran, etc...) and the higher priced ones always seem nicer to me. There is nothing wrong with cheap waxes, just like there is nothing wrong with more expensive ones if you can afford it. I can tell you spreading Glasur just feels like luxury - you cant quantify it.

Cheaper waxes use cheaper solvents (natural vrs "chemicals"), cheaper scents, cheaper packaging, and cheaper ingredients overall. If you think a $45 jar of Auto Finesses' Temptation is exactly the same as a $200 jar of Soul (except the color and label) - I think that's being a bit too skeptical and naive.

Why not splurge and try some, you may like it?

If it make you feel good that fine. But not one person has come up with a test that can prove that these very expensive waxes are any better than the real cheap ones.
These guys great marketers and and have a following that can be convinced of almost any thing we it comes to making their can look good.

Most car that look good are attributable to the talent and hard work detailer.ie Mike Philips, not the wax. ( note I said wax, not polish ).

Do you remember the magic coatings car dealers sold with new car'. It turned out to be nonsense. I do not believe any of the hype, but it make you feel good that really is a different story, everyone should feel good.

It makes me feel nice to have nice things. I hope I get to try Glasur someday soon.

I have used a lot of different wax. I agree it is expensive to buy some of them. There are plenty $50 and less that are great but i never got the enjoyment of using anything compared to Ital!
