Expensive waxes

Overhead flourecent lights do wonders when it comes to car paint snapshots, regardless of what "wax" was used.

I went with sv insignis v3 (haven't tried it yet) and have af destiny which looks awesome and supposed to last a long time. I'm waiting for af illusion to be imported here. If it looks half as good as it does in pictures, it'll be worth it. It's less expensive than af destiny, but is glossier and cheaper. The downside is that af says that illusion will only last a minimum of 2 months compared to destiny which lasts a minimum of 6 months and is their limited edition flagship wax. Some have compared destiny to sv concourso in looks and if illusion is better, that is crazy glossy. I'll strip my one layer of af destiny for af illusion any day. And I still have to use sv insignis v3. I need to buy another car to test all of these waxes.

I just did a coat of V3 prepped with Cleaner Fluid on my merc. Waiting a few hours for it to cure before I put on the second coat. Already looks stunning. Very close to Crystal Rock, great value in this wax!

auto finesse illusion showing its shine on some of the best! - Detailing sponsored by Auto Finesse - Edition 38 Forums

You mean AF Desire not Destiny.

ROTFL!!!!!

"It's not about just making your car shiny. It's about the experience of paying excessive amounts of money to make your car shiny."

Totally see alot of this here. For 96K, that wax better make my car SO glossy and bright that I need to wear a welders mask just to look at it.

:iagree: +1

lol I meant yes to that I was joking! I wouldn't purchase a wax that costs more than my car :D

Get that G63 and the wax won't cost more than it. Are there any polishangel waxes sold in the usa or canada other than the esoteric car care/polishangel wax? I hate to even know what they are going for.

... WANT

Lol even some of the definitive wax range. Be interesting to see what is what here. I kind might order some definitive or polish angel stuff and pick it up in the UK when I stop through London again. See if they are what they say they are

.. Although now that you mention Polish Angel (same with Definitive Wax), I realize they have no official NA contact over here... Someone is going to be making some calls this week!

Definitive Wax, one of my favorites. Waiting for time to try out Ostendo.

Good luck! That would be awesome if you got that deal. Probably not too many people in the market for those brands, but you wouldn't need to move too much to make a nice profit. Too bad you couldn't get af. Some of the definitive wax stuff I would consider getting. A guy I know should be opening a high end detailing shop here. There are no high end detailing shops in vegas right now. There are a few detailers that do work on high end cars, but they do not offer such things as expensive waxes as they typically work on regular cars for the most part. And this guy knows a lot of big fish in this town with disposable income so he should do well as long as he does good work. From what I've seen so far he's good at correction so I got faith that he will do well.

Definitive isn't super expensive either. Like as soon as you break the $1000 mark, you are looking at around $100 per application and really you kinda want to get the best out of it. On the other hand anything under the $500-400 mark you don't feel so bad stripping it and trying something new.

I went the high end/boutique route when I opened mine. Lots of disposable oil money here. High school grads are being paid 60k annually to go and work in the oil fields for 10 months. People don't even flinch at $400 for a wash and wax. Although if you go the high end route, to start it will be slow, but if you really can do the work, it builds up quick.

I need to move and become an apprentice at one of these shops....have bags, will travel!
