Horrible wash mitt

The Carpro mitt is a darn good mitt.

But I like my Wookies Fist even better. It just requires more after wash care. Difficult to dry and I always comb out the wool after washing it.

are we talking about this one?

Super Plush Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt, microfiber wash mitt, car wash mitt

i love that mitt.

i believe it to be much better quality than the ones that look similar available at the mass retailers. in those, the elastic degrades over time and breaks up into little bits in your wash solution and on your paint. also, the inner "sock" weakens and tears. with the one you've pictured, i have yet to have one fail.

I love my Meguiars microfiber mitt and my cheapo $4 microfiber chenille mitt like the pic above..

No the mitt he's talking about is a fake sheepskin mitt. I used to use it myself. After doing my first polishing and looking at it in the garage with lights on and my big monster LED flashlight on it and out in the sun I got most of the scratches out then a few months later I noticed the scratches were back. My gf has a new car and there are scratches on her car too in certain places. So I believe that it has to be the mitt. Black light will fill it temporarily, but a good light polishing fixed all of the swirls and scratches for me.

Spending 10 bucks extra on a mitt is well worth it imho. The carpro mitt is great. It is super soft and not super heavy. Some people like the wookie's fist, but it can get pretty heavy from soaking up a ton of water from what I've read in reviews. I have 3 carpro mitts. One for me and the gf whenever we wash our cars, and one for backup. The green micro chenille one is ok, but that one does get heavy from soaking up a lot of water. I have 2 of those and on one of them the cuff broke the first time I used it. If anyone is in vegas and wants them, I would give it away. Sorry but I'm too lazy to ship it out if anyone wants it.

Hopefully I will not have to do a 3rd polishing on this car soon. After the first time, I thought I wouldn't have to do it a 2nd time because of a bunch of swirls and the next time I would do it would be just to make it glossier. I

think having a great mitt helps a lot in preventing scratches. I would rather be polishing other people's cars like I will be doing this weekend.

Sorry to hear about your problems with the mitt. Thanks for taking the time to warn the rest of us who haven't tried it.

your talking about that bright green one with the little dread locks?
yea its not a great mitt, i have it as well and now use it for wheels and crap.
i just ordered the dodo wookie fist. and i also heard great things about carpros wash mitt

I like my wookies fist however id like to leave a negative note... :$ its heavy when its full of soapy water... not heavy to lift but heavy if you have soft paint... also no one is kidding when they talk about using a pet brush on it.... and its kind of a pain to dry out.... takes a couple days to air dry....
I now use the car pro mit....

Don't use the CG Fatty Orange towel either. I made it 2 1/2 years swirl & marr free until I used a new towel to dry our Carbon Black Regal. Guess I have an excuse to use some new products.

I've never had a problem with the fatty oranges. I mainly will use them for pat-drying with rinseless washes. I too have a carbon black car, a lacrosse, and have never noticed marring. Make sure you pay dry, never rub.
That being said, I use cg's wooly mammoth as a drying towel. It's the softest, most plush mf towel I've used. Super thick and big, great drying towel. I use it to blot the remaining water after I've blown dry my car and used my master blaster sidekick...but anywho, back on the subject. The cg's wash pad is horrible, I agree with you guys. I use Adams wash pad. I really like them. I need to give the carpro mitt a go after reading how many people like them.

I use the GG wash mitt. Picked it up on a whim at an auto parts store and it is a great mitt!

You're 100% correct.

I have the awful mass-market green version that I got at AZ, and I have this mitt. I use the green on my tires and lower 1/4 of the car, and this one for the paint.

The "dreadlocks" (as somebody upthread called them) are much more dense on this. They are more tightly woven and softer.

I'm a firm believer in this mitt and I actually use it most often as a wash pad, preferring not to "wear" it. But it's never caused me any damage, it cleans up nicely against a grit guard mid-wash, etc.

I think I'll pick this one up next Carrand Microfiber MAX Premium Wash Sponge, car wash sponge, microfiber sponge, micro fiber car sponge

I use a waffle weave drying towel (it's just ok) and was thinking about this towel or the big fluffy grey one that was more expensive. I can't believe that this towel scratches. It looks somewhat plush.

I have had good luck wiith this mit on my Candy Apple Gt. Loads up with alot of suds and water. Several washes and no marks or scratches...

That looks like the cg wash pad that uses the same fake sheepskin wool that scratches paint. Merino wool is the way to go. It's so much better whether its the carpro mitt, dodo juice wookies fist, or any other merino mitt. I don't know why no one has the dodo juice short haired wookies fist mitt for sale in the usa.

+1 on the Carpro Merino Wool Mitt. I have one for my WRX and one for my RX-7. Like many others have said, I also use the Cobra MF mitts for my lower panels.

I am pretty happy with my meguiars microfiber wash mitt. SUPER soft and glides across the paint very smooth. For around 5 bucks, it's a bargain.

I haven't tried all the wool but it should be the same it comes from a lamb genetically lamb is lamb.
