Accidents can happen.

It should cost whatever his insurance deductible is. I can't see it being less.

It won't be cheap. They will evaluate the front end. You are most likely looking at a few grand in repairs. The fact that the front rectangle was damaged means they will look at the frame. Did the airbag deploy ?

I didnt get a chance, it literally just happen. I was saying that the plastic is crushed in the middle so we might need a new audi hood and definatley a new logo piece , maybe a new bumper if it cant be wetsanded and fixed

$1600-20000

Bumper repair/refinish $600-700
Hood repair/refinish $600-700
Front clip repair $300-400
Misc parts $100-200

Hard to tell w/o pics. General guideline is $500-600 per panel.

From what you describe, the airbag probably went off. Add another 1500 just to have that replaced.

hood has a dent about the size of a penny ill try to find a picture of what it looks like the whole box for the front is crushed and the bumper looks like a post wetsand in some spots

I'd guess 4-6k, but then again, what do I know besides it won't be cheap.

the front grille is what im talking about, its dented in. The rest is okay, probably it will next hood sheet metal work and possibly a new bumper

Hi autogeek. My father was recently in a small accident. I dont know what your idea of small is, but imagine an audi with light hood damage, crushed front rectangle and roughed up bumper. Fellow autogeeks, what do you think it will cost, I dont have a picture, but imagine the wording in this image

Why not just have insurance handle it? Then all he pays out of pocket is whatever the deductible costs, which is more than likely the cheapest option. Insurance rates shouldn't go up if someone else caused the damage, even if they're not around to have their own insurance take care of the damage (i.e. hit and run).

A co-worker of mine, an older man, thought it was stupid that I had full coverage insurance on my last car because it was paid off and had been paid off for about a year or two at the time. I asked him what would I do if the car was damaged in any way and he said I could just pay out of pocket! Back in early 2012, some junk on the road hit my car and caused $2500 in paint damage. Why would I want to just pay that out of pocket because I was too cheap to pay for FULL COVERAGE insurance? Even partial coverage insurance rates can be expensive. My girlfriend's 1999 Ford Taurus has the lowest form of coverage and it costs $178 a month. My full coverage insurance through State Farm is about $208, but that covers almost everything under the sun that can happen to my car from hit and run, my fault, someone else's fault, vandalism, whatever may happen.

Not sure how I got on that subject, lol. My point is, vehicle insurance is meant to be used when needed. I'll be damned if I pay some crazy sum out of pocket just because I don't want to deal with the insurance company.

Without seeing it, I don't think you'll get any bodywork done on a newer Audi for less than 4 grand - no matter how slight. Those parts are expensive !!!

I would use the insurance. That's why you have it.

Picture here is dark , but you can see the grille is crushed in and you might be able to see the scratch marks near it . Probably will be expensive .

lol, the bumper of his car backed into my grille it is crushed almost to the point where its touching the radiator

Ive never understood air bags. People bump a deer and they go off yet I just finished rebuilding an 03 GMC 2500HD that hit a telephone pole at 60mph+ and ruined the frame yet the air bags never went off.
