The Homeric Hymns, Homeric Apocrypha...
In fact: Anything by the Greek poet Homer.

Some will argue that this includes the two best books, besides the Bible, that were ever written...
Homer's:
1. "The Iliad"
2. "The Odyssey"

:)

Harry potter series, percy jackaon series, odd thomas series, enders game series, lord of the rings series, fablehaven series, nicholas flamel series, dark tower series, beyonders series. I really like a good series. lol theres more. Thats just what popped in my head at the moment.

in a few months a movie will be coming out called "Enders Game". I highly recommend reading that book in advance. Do yourself a favor and take a recommendation to heart and read it. :-)

I have read Harry Potter, all of Harry potter plus the movies, was even that 2 halloweens ago hahaha , all of Enders Game (beautiful series, wish they made a movie out of it, just to tune in but there was very light controversy, I think, with Orson Scott Card. But also looks like the movie might be made. lol) Lord of the Rings, but will be checking out FableHaven :D

Thank You

I know we studied the Odyessy at school but will be looking it and into The Lliad

Thanks Guys

(I pinky promise I didn't listen to the Twilight series lol) :)

Very good post here. Also, I would recommend The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. It's a collection of 3 stories known as Inferno (most have heard of this one), Purgatorio, and Paradiso. It's a very long read, but a great one.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values by Robert M. Persig

One of the more enjoyable insightful reads that I can recall. Very good book.

For lighter reading, I like espionage/counter-terrorism thrill rides, Vince Flynn's novels (there's 13 of them) are some of the best. Absolute page turners that you won't put down. Another good option in this category is Nelson Demille's The Lion's Game, Nightfall, and the Lion.

One other noteworthy trilogy is Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan's Strain series.

Clive Cussler has quit a few novels to enjoy.

Just fun reading...

The Gulag Archipelago by Alexander Solzhenitsyn. I think all the volumes are like 4,000 pages. Probably the best book I ever read.

You will learn a lot about human nature there.

"The Gulag Archipelago remains as the one of the most historically impressive works; first circulated by hand, it would eventually cause Solzhenitsyn to flee the country, and emphasize "Human Rights" to the world at large. Categorized as "an experiment in literary investigation", The Gulag Archipelago is comprised of Solzhenitsyn's own memories, as well as those of other camp inmates, official records and interviewees. A memorial to those who died in the camps, this work shows the historical truth of the Gulag, as well as the mark it left on society. "Volume Two (part 3 and 4 of 6) is concerned with the daily life and death of the prisoners, among whom Solzhenitsyn spent eight years. Passionate and sharply ironic. Both a powerful chronicle of brutal abuses and at the same time a testament to the tensile strength of the human spirit." (from Newsweek)

Right now...I am reading books about business ethics as well as information Systems. Working on finishing my Bachelor`s Degree. I wish I had time for extra curricular reading. Oh wait....3 week break coming up....and I have Mike`s book. Yes!!!!!

The movie Life of Pi was really good almost as good as the book. Not so much so for Enders Game.

I keep that book in my garage right next to all my detailing equipment. It's right there for quick reference if anything should arise. I also want to get the Griots Garage book. I believe the more knowledge the better.

Undaunted Courage: Meriwether Lewis, Thomas Jefferson, and the Opening of the American West by Stephen Ambrose
A bit of history. I enjoyed all of the books that I have read by Ambrose(Band of Brothers,Citizen Soldiers).
####(short for Richard) Francis is a great author. Fiction, he was a jockey so his stories are around horse racing.
Reacher series by Lee Child.
Stuart Woods has several series that are interesting.
If you like SciFi, my favorite author is Robert Heinlein, especially The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.
The Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov.
Jim Butcher, Dresden series. Should be read in order.
David Baldacci, Camel Club series.
I liked the Harry Potter series and The Lord of The Rings is one of my favorites.

I have the Griot`s Garage book. It is nowhere as detailed as Mike`s book from just perusing through his. I have already looked at and read the Griot`s book. The instructional DVD on polishing was good though
