Your post was what led me to re-do the test and look closely at it again.
Thanks! :xyxthumbs:
OEM Honda S2000 soft top pics: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/album.php?albumid=498
I took some pictures tonight. I also re-tested using water. Perhaps I did not look close enough when I tested this the first time. The top's texture is VERY fooling. It looks very much like fabric. When I re-tested with the water again (as you'll see in the pics) the water DOES NOT sink in. I...
Thank you for your reply Mike!
Yes my top is in excellent condition. There has been MUCH care given to this car...just no protectant to the top. I am very anal with that car. I did purchase some 303 high tech fabric guard a bit earlier in the year but have yet to apply it. Im glad i decided to...
FYI...I am the original owner and it is the OEM top. I will try to get some pics when I can.
Oh...I have never treated this top as of yet. I never leave it outside for very long. I was planning to treat it over this winter. I did purchase the 303 high tech fabric guard for it, but now I'm glad...
As stated in my original post...it did the water test....it certainly seems fabric.
I also purchased the car new so I would have to believe that it is OEM.
Why is the information on the Autogeek website conflicting then? (per my listed links above)
To be clear:
I tested per the test on the...
Hello all...
I'm confused here...I have a 2006 Honda S2000. I have always been under the impression that the OEM soft top is fabric. However I am finding conflicting information. If I use the test that is listed on the website here it is fabric: Convertible Top Care Products. 303 convertible...

Mind you this was with only a carnauba wax.
The car that I did this with:
1997 GS-R (the sad day that I sold it) - My Photos -...
Oh...this painter was about my age or just a bit younger...I'm 39 now so maybe somewhere around late twenties ish or so back then. I think that I learned this around 2000.
Just for reference I used this process at that time: clay...Meguiars deep crystal paint cleaner...#7 show car glaze...2-3...
Hi all. So I haven't seen this anywhere yet so I'm asking now.
Something that was taught to me many years ago by an automotive painter was that after applying several coats of a carnauba wax was to do a final buff using an ice water. The theory behind this was that the cold water would make the...
Oh...be sure to sign up for VIP status for the email deals! There's a great deal on a Griots DA and two pads right now! If your considering one...now's the time! I have a Griots...much better than the larger "wax spreaders" that I used to use. Also...maybe get a 6-pack of LC pads and you'll be...
Oh...ok
Yea, I've read about Zaino as well but thought that there were too many steps to it so I never tried it. I also agree about the degradation of the site...it's really too bad. I don't post too much these days but I do still read several times a week.
It sounds like you chose some great...
