Haha, I didn't even notice you resurrected your own thread from the dead. Glad you did though, as it's a great turnaround. How does the boat look 2 years later? Have you done any maintenance on it at any point in between?

Also, why would you clay the boat before sanding and compounding? I'm interested because I'm thinking about expanding to refinishing boats. Thanks!

Excellent turnaround! You stated that you used 1000, 2000, & 3000 grit sandpaper but I don't see that mentioned in the writeup. Did you just go straight to compounding without sanding?
