Collinite 476 or 915 for a Ohio Winter

I would defer to the more experienced members here but I have my own experience with 845. Late last fall I applied some to my sapphire black metallic 650iX and drove every day to work (110 mi round trip) in central Ohio weather. The salt mostly just rinsed off and I did rinseless washes...

Car detailing newbie, looking for concrete directions

In my limited experience you will not be able to remove swirls effectively without a machine polisher. The PC sold here is an inexpensive way to get started. I have even heard pros here say they do effective work with one of the Harbor Freight knock off polishers. I recommend starting with a...

Differences Between Microfiber cloths and towels

I don't know much as I am a total amateur, but I do know that whatever touches my paint must be of high quality. I have learned the hard way that cheap microfiber towels induce swirls and scratches that I must then polish out. When washing, there is the lubrication from the soap, there isn't any...

Very fine spider webs on black

Back to the original question, I have a '13 BMW with the same Sapphire Black Metallic paint. Last year I did a full compound, polish and seal so this year I was planning on only doing polish and seal only as I don't want to sacrifice more clear coat than I have to. I have used a number of...

    Dealership Ceramic Coating

As a car buyer I would love to have had that option. Instead, my dealer talked me in to a product called CilaJet. At the time, I knew nothing about detailing. I joined this forum AFTER I bought my dream car ('13 BMW 650iX) After a few minuted on the forum I realized I had made a $900 mistake...

Why isn't there a universal color code for buffing pads?

Such a chart exists on AutoGeek's sister site Autopia: https://www.autopia.org/forums/paint-correction-and-gloss-enhancement/187053-updated-2-2017-autopia-polish-comparison-chart.html

    KWAZAR spray nozzle issue

Similar experience. My Kwazars with IPA and Uber rinseless are going strong after a year, but my Kwazar with M-37 APC failed after 2 months. Took it apart, cleaned it and still no joy. I now use cheap dollar store sprayers for APC and throw them away when they fail.

    Minimum temperature to apply WGDGPS

I can't say what the absolute minimum would be but I just put WDGPS on my BMW this weekend after polishing. I got the garage temp up to 54F and the product worked fine. I let it sit for an hour after application just to be sure, but it dried to a nice haze and buffed off easily. Hope that helps.

Black Sapphire Metallic BMW 335is Paint Correction

Fantastic work! That is my color as well. Last year I purchased a '13 650iX GC in BSM and that is how I ended up on Autogeek. I had never done any detailing before, so I learned a lot from people like the OP on what works. I am not a professional, but I am fairly satisfied with the results and...

Competition Ready - The Backyard Edition

Great Job! And keep posting. My experience is similar to yours. I became interested in detailing last year after purchasing a BMW 650iX GC in Black Sapphire Metallic. Never had a black car before. I started by devouring Mike's book "Show Car Shine" and started my shopping addiction at...

    Rim protection from brake dust

I have used both the Sonax product and McKee's Wheel coating. I find the McKee's product works a little better. The dust generally just rinses off.

    Mckee's Tire Coating

I have used these products and I can say I am totally satisfied with them. I used the rejuvinator first as it is recommended on the coating product. I have about 8 weeks on my tires now and they still look great. See here for pictures...
