What are the opinions on Griot's microfibers?

I like their green and blue (spray on wash and speedshine, which came bundled). Also, I have the orange polish removal which are also good. The wax removal mf, I find irritating to use in the sense that it bunches up pretty easily while wiping. For my white mf, I prefer the sonus brand. As for...

    First time with Griots orbital

you could probably do a waterless wash? or if the car is already clean, I don't see why you can't just go ahead and clay it.

    Polishing Stainless Steel?

if the metal polish won't remove the swirls, you could try the steel wool and going in one direction with long strokes, then follow it with metal polish and a mini ball attached on a drill. I have wheels with polished lips and have used sandpaper (1000, 2000), super fine steel wool, then going...

3" Polisher or 4" Pad Setup

are there any backing plates out to better fit the 4" LC pads? I have the bp that came with the spot buffs kit but it's only 2 3/4". Can't apply any pressure without sinking the BP into the pad.

FIXING a Clear Coat Failure - need some advice!

you can practice on a panel and see if the results are worth the effort to do the entire car. Otherwise, the best thing to do is do the respray prep work yourself to save for the cost of the respray, which I'm sure would save you quite a bit of money.

Just bought my first Makita 9227C and need some advice...

I have the dewalt 849x and bought the Megs W66 backing plate to fit my 6.5" CCS pads (bought prior to owning the rotary). I also have 3" backing plates (one from the spot buffs kit and the Optimum bp) to fit 3" Optimum MF pads as well as the 4" CCS. Although the 3" (2 3/4") bp is quite small for...

Wheel Woolies or Daytona Speed Brush

Do you mean to turn the speed brush while you are pulling it out of wheel spokes? I used it once while doing rinseless wash and I got splattered with black crud as I was brushing between spokes. I'm pretty sure I was turning it with my wrist instead of just moving it in and out.

Good place to start with a rotary?

What does it take to burn edges using a rotary? I mean, if you are moving the machine normally, how long before you burn an edge? I'm also just a newbie with rotary, haven't really practiced with it much. Just trying to get the hang of it for now.

so i screwed up my clear coat repair, thoughts?

I don't have any experience with this but will be trying it out sometime soon. OP, Hope you'll be able to achieve your desired results after the second time around. Just wondering though, wouldn't I need a good condition(no sanding marks) basecoat before I spray clear on it? Or are you just...

    Review: Optimum GPS

Thanks for the review CEE DOG! I may have missed the follow up post, but did Chris@optimum mean to use a dampened MF with optimum car wax or instant detailer to wipe off GPS instead of water? Also, just wondering if I can use either opti-seal or ocw to top gps? Thanks.
