Thumbs Down on LC HT Pads

I did our 2010 MDX and 99 Avalon using the cyan HT with Meg backing plate and Meg UC (after washing with Meg Gold Class and clay bar). I hand applied Meg NXT 2.0. Very happy with the result. The MDX was scratched up from the car wash. I only do the car wash in winter after they salt the roads. I...

Thumbs Down on LC HT Pads

Amazing! The hooks feel and look just like my Meg but, unlike my Meg, it grabs the HT pads like glue, just like many have posted. Pretty sure I can now operate at 5 without losing the pad. I was surprised at how stiff it is. The LC ad says it is soft to conform to body contours. It is...

Thumbs Down on LC HT Pads

My new LC backing plate is on the UPS truck to be delivered today. Can't wait to try it with the LC HT pads.

Thumbs Down on LC HT Pads

:nomore: What Meg pad would (or do) you use with Meg UC? I just did my 99 Avalon with UC and the LC cyan and was very pleased except for the fact the pad kept coming off my DA. Do you like the Meg MF pads, especially the ones that come in the Correction System? Thanks.

Thumbs Down on LC HT Pads

I am a little confused. You seem to be extolling the virtues of LC but end-up saying you won't buy them anymore.

Thumbs Down on LC HT Pads

Yep, read it....that's why I got the LC pads for my old machine.

Nope, got rid of that one a long time ago!

Thumbs Down on LC HT Pads

Yes, I am using my old Meg backing plate. Based on your recommendation, I am going to buy a new LC backing plate. Also, as you stated, the low profile 5.5" HT pads spin so well on my old DA polisher, I don't think I need to buy a new one.

Thumbs Down on LC HT Pads

The LC HT foam pads have a white cloth backing that attaches to to the backing plate. The cloth on the Meg pads is nappy (fuzzy) and really grabs the backing plate. You have to work to peel it off. My HT's are 5.5" low profile and my backing plate is a Meg 4.5". There is only about 1/4" between...

Thumbs Down on LC HT Pads

Just used the cyan with Meg UC. Pad cut ok but the nap is too tight to properly grab my backing plate. In fact, the pad wouldn't stay on at speed 5 on my PC DA. I'm going back to Meg pads.

LC vs Meg MF Pads with UC

I think I have read all of the threads and watched all of the videos. Seems like the choice between LC and Meguiars MF pads is one of personal preference and application. Neither pad is clearly superior to the other in terms of durability and performance. Would you agree with that? Also, seems...

    Worth Upgrading to PC 7424XP?

That is exactly what I am planning to do. Just found MP's article on best pads for the first generation DA's. Man this site is loaded with info! I am going to get LC 5.5" flat pads. My H&L Meg backing plate is 4.75" and has a low profile with not too much give. Should I be buying a new LC...

    Worth Upgrading to PC 7424XP?

OMG, that Jag is beautiful!! You mention leaning into the XP. Seems like the pad would definitely stop rotating if you applied that much pressure?

    Worth Upgrading to PC 7424XP?

Just watched the AutoGeek Flex video. This machine looks awesome but I am concerned about burning paint as I am just a DIYer, especially going over curved surfaces. Should I be concerned?

    Worth Upgrading to PC 7424XP?

Hi folks! I have a PC 7335 that I bought from Meg 15 years ago. It is in great shape although it seems like I have to pay more attention to keep it rotating. Seems like the weight of the machine itself will stop the rotation on a horizontal hood surface. I trimmed my 6.5" pad down to 5" and that...
