I've dealt with this before thanks to the kids. In a pinch the Bissell pet stain remover works but the only way to get it out short of pulling the carpet is to keep flushing the carpet until it sucks up clear.

Yeah, that stuff is awful, but a big step up from Dawn dish soap. I like Meguiars Ultimate wash and wax a lot better.
