    IPA Wipedown, Yes or No

As a chemist, if I were to feel the need to do a final clean before waxing/sealing, I would use ethanol on a cloth just to remove particulates. Ethanol would also remove trace amounts of water but is less likely to damage the paint.

    I just don't get it????

I read a number of online forums such as this one and post occasionally so I don't mind using my name. No Facebook or other social platforms. Who cares what my opinion on trim sealant is? (I like the Wolfgang stuff) Bill

(Beginner) Any Tips on cleaning these Alloy Wheels ?

If you are going to use acid on aluminum, stick to citric or phosphoric acid and be sure to rinse, rinse, rinse! Then you'll need to seal the surface to keep it looking nice. I also recommend just using steel wool with a mild cleaner. Never use a caustic cleaner on aluminum. (lye, sodium...

    Newbie help with product selection

I clayed my GTI when I got it in July; I was surprised at how much smoother it made the paint. I then used the Klasse cleaner and the Klasse sealant. I use wax over the sealant. The Wolfgang products are really good but I got the AG forum favorite package and it's been working well for me...

new car need ideas before ordering

When I got my Mk7 GTI, I clayed it, used Klasse AIO cleaner, then the Klasse glaze/sealant. I then used Pinnacle Souveran paste wax to finish it. For a faster, but still awesome wax job, I use Pinnacle XMT360 spray wax. I wash the car weekly or as needed, use the spray wax afterwards...

Estimated time for a 1950 Plymouth suburban

I hate it when people try to nickel and dime a project like this. If he's only going to spend $1k on the paint job, what sort of job is expecting of you? I understand wanting to work on a cool project, but quote an honest price and if he doesn't bite then maybe negotiate a bit less but...

The difference between a swirl and squirrel

My wife just wanted me to wash/wax the car. I did that, but now when I wash the car I keep feeling "grit" in the paint and I wish I'd clayed it to begin with. I'm biding my time and waiting for her to be out of the way so I can get it done right.

    Chemical Guys Products?

I just bought a white car so I'm interested in CG's White Wax. But is it a wax or a sealant or a glaze or an AIO? Should I use their WhiteLight first then apply the White Wax? That is what I infer from their description but why use "Finish" in a product that goes on right after claying...
