You could use any base coat but black tends to bring out the pattern on the top layer, and the top layer which has the pattern which i been calling the marble/wrinkle effect is really called the crazer effect right.U...
man thanks for the help, the info is great, but just one question.
once u get the design on the top coat do u have to cover it with a candy color??
from the 2 video's that i seen (i guess not too many practice this effect)they have a black base, and white base with the texture on the black...

yea thats 1 huge problem, tuching it up because thats all people would stare at.
For this paint job u have to apply a candy color ontop right? and when u guys say to reduce by 25% to 50%.
By sanding the dryd wrinkly layer it would bring it back to its base color right? then when i hit it with...
id give that a go, but what do u guys think of that style of paint ? if u guys saw that how i did,not what the red civic has, which one would be more impressive ??

lol at the moment i only have the exterior done but its a ex model. In about 3 or 4 months im planing on buying a h22 w/ trani swap and doing the conversion my self, havnt done so because i dont have money :), its my everyday car yet its my biggest toy hahaha
you know i did notice what you sayd was true, that most of those kits come with stuff i dont need, thats y i ask b4 i buy :)

great, thanks for the info, now that we got the wetsanding down, what kit should i get for the porter to start with ?
Now as i see the kits, they all come with 6.5 pads and your saying 4-5.5inch pads are best, is there a kit that would come like that ?
also which kit would you recommend for...
Thanks for the help man, for sand the car down with about 2000, see the results and if u need more work then go back down with 1000-1200, then proceed with 2000-2500. gotcha
