As a newbie polisher could I get away with just having the Makita PO6000C 6” pad.

Newbie? No compounding? Limited on tools? I'll just throw out the suggestion of doing those areas by hand. Heck, I've got 5 polishers and still do areas like the air dam in the pic you posted by hand. Not often, but for a quick polish... everyone needs a little carpal tunnel to tell their...

Could a FLEX XFE 7-12 80 Owner please check the backing pad dimensions please?

No problem! Keep us updated on how things go, and good luck to you. Worse comes to worse, you could always pick up a 7-12 80, lol! :xyxthumbs: It's a handy little tool. Also, welcome to the board!

Could a FLEX XFE 7-12 80 Owner please check the backing pad dimensions please?

A quick measure with cheap calipers says my XFE 7-12 has: M6-1.0x20 allen flange screw (4mm key size) Shaft: 16.90mm across the flats, 19.10mm on the rounds Plate: 16.99mm across the flats, 19.34ish mm on the rounds. Recess: 3.80mm Just some quick measurements, maybe someone else can chime in...

    Possible damage to my 3401

OK, I'm sure I'm gonna leave stuff out but...CarFax only works if they report it. If you narrow down to a car you want, the best thing is to bring it to a mechanic you trust if possible. Otherwise, I always bring a scanner with to check for codes and if everything is running within spec. Look...

    Possible damage to my 3401

No worries, I almost missed the part about it being misused too. I like my Flex polishers a lot, but I'm no apologist for them. I agree with what I think you were saying. For the money, this is a professional tool, and should hold up to being used as such. As a mechanic, I've just seen so many...

    HD Speed and Uro-Fiber

Wow, looks great! Posts like this have finally gotten to me. I broke down and just ordered a 32 oz. bottle of HD Speed.

    Possible damage to my 3401

Well, no attack or anything, but what makes you think that paying a higher price for a tool gives you an excuse to use it incorrectly? If I pay $50 for a Snap-On screwdriver, then I should be able to use it as a pry bar, ice-pick, or hammer? I'll never understand this reasoning:dunno:

Master Blaster Hose extension - alternative brands?

I use the Master Blaster 8HP unit with a factory 30ft hose. I wouldn't worry about pressure loss. If you're not careful, it can blow door seals out of place. There are times when I turn one of the motors off. And while you're correct about the power being the main attraction to the MB, using a...

    Xfe7 fyi

There's a video on Youtube with Rob from Sonax where he states that the gears and motor have been improved, and he says it's quieter and smoother than the last model. I don't have any proof of all the improvements so you can take all that at face value. I noticed that the brass inserts go all...

Flex XFE 7 vs Rupes 15 Mark II

Thanks for the review Dave! :props: Just got mine too. Number 00073 :coolgleam: Unfortunately, it's 23 degrees out, so I won't be getting to really use it any time soon. It's good to hear your impression of it so far. From the little bit that I got to play with mine, I can say it feels similar...

Interested to see what the new XFE7 has...

The Flex website lists the power input as 710 watts and power output as 420 watts however you want to interpret that. It seems as though manufactures like to use the input rating as the advertised power (Rupes does also). Don't get too hung up on numbers, read this...

Interested to see what the new XFE7 has...

Awww, what the heck. I got a $500 AG gift certificate from Christmas with the thought of getting a long throw of some sort. Then I see this pop up tonight and I say to myself, "Maybe if it goes on sale, I'll pick it up." So of course there's a 20% sale this weekend! Lol. I ordered the starter...

    Foam Cannon vs Touchless Wash

Thank you for the warm greeting Kevin! I've never been to the Rise and Drive events. They look like a great time. Will definitely have to check it out and meet you guys. I'm already daydreaming about weather that's warm enough to use real water in buckets to wash the cars

    Foam Cannon vs Touchless Wash

Foam can be a great tool for different situations. I use it to knock the dust and light dirt off my garage queens. Blow them dry with the Master Blaster, and they're clean without putting a finger on them. I also have used it as a quick touchless wash in between my normal washes on daily...
