Right in the thick of it. Was stepping off of the subway underneath the WTC on my way to work when the first plane hit. Lingered a bit too long trying to figure out what was going on. Lots of running and falling debris when the second one hit.

That is my best guess as well. Unfortunately, when I try to take a photo my camera just focuses on the reflections instead of the blemish, so at best it just looks like a blur. I'm wondering if this is repairable or will it require a repaint?...

I think you're generalizing a bit here. Maybe specify that a good installer would do those things. Mine sure didn't.
