I've found that the qd ratio works more along the lines of a waterless wash than just a qd.

Couple shots of my daily driver canvas convertible top. It is garages but sees a 140 mile round trip commute 2-4 days per week. Cleaned with 303 cleaner and 2 applications of fabric guard back in August. Salt rinses right off and as you can see it beads great. About 10,000 miles in 6 months...

Yes, that does sound exactly like the right product. Actually sounds similar to the Obenauf's leather oil, also. The thing I'm concerned about is, despite how effective these products are on leather, do they work as well on the coated leather seen in auto applications?

No experience with either, but I have been using Blue Magic headlight/plastic polish for years with great results. Both by hand and with a power drill kit.
