Thanks! I'm reading about this product now. It may be just what I was looking for. I stalked your profile expecting to see some pictures of that SS, but I didn't see any. Have a good night!

    Brand New Truck; Detailing prodecures

Thanks for the great answer. I actually have some Ultra Polish laying around from last year. I think I'll use it up. Funny I may also have an LC white pad in the garage too!

    Brand New Truck; Detailing prodecures

Hi everyone. I'm sure this question has been asked a million times before but I figured instead of using the search feature of the website I would enjoy some good conversation with people like you! I just got a brand new 2021 truck last week. It is white. The paint seems like it needs no...

I think I may have burned through my clearcoat

Sounds kind of silly, but I almost thought about purposely chipping the paint where the black burn marks are. I feel like this would then give the touch up paint (or the Dr. Colorchip) something to bind to.

I think I may have burned through my clearcoat

Thanks, I don't think the squeegee method will work on this. It is smooth. There is nothing for the paint to grab on to. I actually got two estimates, but they were with the bumper on the car. One was $800 and the guy turned out to be unreliable. The other was for $975. I think if I could...

I think I may have burned through my clearcoat

Tom, thanks for the reply. This is a front bumper from a 1994 Pontiac Trans Am. It is not metal. I think it's fiberglass, so rust is not of concern.

I think I may have burned through my clearcoat

Please take a look at my picture. This car is 25 years old. The front end was kinda roughed up; tons of chips, etc. A few weeks ago I started buffing it with my Porter Cable and some Meguiar's 101. I think I may have rubbed through the clear coat and it turned black. First off, I'm not a...

    Cause of water spots

Sometimes, sometimes not. You think this could cause water spots?

    Cause of water spots

The water in my area is so bad, that you almost need to do a full detail every time you wash the car. The water spots are impossible here. Even drying the car does not always help. But, I noticed when we do our dishes (yes the glasses we drink from), they come out spotless (hand wash or...

Storing a car outdoors under cover

OK too late now. Thanks for all the info. I just ordered the Evolution from AutoGeek. It really seemed like the best bang for your buck cover. It gets good reviews, etc.

Storing a car outdoors under cover

This is only a 2-3 year option for me. When I find time to build a 2 car garage, I will be doing so. Right now I'm thinking about a CoverCraft Evolution. It seems to address most of my concerns (5 out of 5 for Hail). I have a small section next to my garage. I plan to remove the grass...

Storing a car outdoors under cover

Yeah, I was thinking of grass. But I have some 10 mil poly sitting in my garage that I would lay down 1st if I go this route.

Storing a car outdoors under cover

I really want one of those things that looks like a tent. I think it's a portable garage, but the wife thinks they are ugly.

Storing a car outdoors under cover

Thanks for the advice Mark, but I'm talking about the under side of the car, not the cover, LOL. Trying to keep that clean. I'm talking about suspension components, mufflers, etc.!!
