Should I do a IPA wipe down in between any of these steps? If so, when would I do that? Wouldn't the PC7424XP do a good job with the swirl remover and finishing glaze 3.0?
Will the swirl remover and finishing glaze remove the water spots? There are no sprinklers around my black car. I guess it's from the rain. Have some calcium build up
About 10 months ago, I fully detailed my new black Benz 2012 E350. I would rate it a 7.8/10. It took a total of 8 hours to complete this bad boy and I was very exhausted afterwards. I recently got some quotes from professional detailers starting from $300-$400. I detailed my car using the...
My white car has always been sitting outside 24/7. It has a lot of oxidization and a chalky/dull feel when touching the surface. Here is my steps of detailing my car:
1.Wash/Dry
2. Clay bar with lubricant
3. Meguiars ultimate compound
4. Wolfgang total swirl remover

@BobbyG, Thanks for the chart. I think I'm going to try out the Menzerna Power Gloss PG-1000. So here would be my order of operations:
1. Wash and Dry
2. Clay Bar
3. Do I need paint cleaner?
4. Menzerna Power Gloss PG-1000 (for compound)
5. Polish w/ Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0
6. Do I need a...

I have a 2005 White Honda Accord and the gloss/shine is almost gone. When I touch the surface it seems a little rough like the paint is dry. It's always been in the sun and parked outside for a couple of years. What would you guys recommend? Do I need to add clear coat? Or just wash, clay bar...
Thanks Mike. I appreciate your helpful answers. That's probably what it is. I was confused as to why I received to different ones. The black one is for sure the right one since I read all these posts, the gray one is smaller and thicker.
I just bought the PC 7424XP combo pack that includes Wolfgang Swirl Remover, Finishing Glaze, and it comes with a 5.5 backing plate. The backing plate came with 2 washers, the standard black plastic washer and the other one is a grayish one. I know that I'm supposed to use the black plastic...
The Flex 3401 seems very tempting even for a beginner. It seems that the PC is the safest way to go even though it doesn't produce the same results as the Flex. If you use the Flex wrong, it could do some damage to your paint. Decisions, decisions!!!
