In Germany Menzerna recommends fairly hard pads for all their finishing polishes. Their own finishing pad is similar to an orange Lake Country pad. They have a soft pad, but Menzerna recommends this only for their sealants.

Buy them if you have a PC or a Griots DA or similar and need more cut than you can get from foam pads.

If you don't have the mf pads already, then don't buy the Meguiar's MF discs for the 3401. I just used them, because i already had and wanted to try them.

I didn't find that MF pads are too grabby on a Flex 3401, but they do need some serious cleaning after each panel (much more than with a non forced rotation DA) and imho you need to change them for a new and fresh one after every other panel. Worked with the cutting discs on speed 4 without any...
