Pure Sine Inverter set up or Gas Generator

Are you asking about an inverter/generator (on the inverter side) or a large inverter downstream of a bank of batteries charged by your alternator? If the latter, even though the price of the inverter initially looks promising, by the time enough deep cycle battery capacity has been added the...

    A 2000 Lumen 6000k LED inspection light for $30!

Thanks! I was looking at one manufacturer whose light was rated to 36v, but after considering the batteries peak at around 38v, I decided against it. This light isn't rated quite as high an output as the other one, but it was half the cost even when including the converter.

Newbie Question - Best 2006 MB Black (040) polish?

I love the coincidental timing. I was going to recommend switching to a glaze at this point (given the low levels of clear) and two posts above yours is a 4 year old thread about Poorboy's Black Hole that got bumped today. You should read it!

    A 2000 Lumen 6000k LED inspection light for $30!

Well, almost. I had this DeWalt "work light" that I had used maybe twice in the last 5 years. It was part of my cordless combo pack: Under $30 and a little bit of time and it became this: It was really quite easy. I bought a $15.00 LED spot beam off road light off Amazon...

    FLEX PE8 uses

Your vehicle speed analogy is correct as far as speed at the outside of a circle. If we use the 1500 RPM you mentioned and the car had 6" tires, it would go twice as fast as if it had 3" tires. That same speed at the outer edge of the pad is what burns paint when left in one spot for too long...

    FLEX PE8 uses

Given that it's designed for 3" and under pads, the 1300 RPM is plenty low. In algebra terms, the linear velocity is directly proportional to the radius and angular velocity. In other words, a 3" pad needs to spin exactly twice as fast as a 6" pad to achieve the same speed at the outer edge of...

    Polisher Decision

As is often the case, I part ways with the crowd! For under $300 you can have the three top machines all in one. One of the top rotaries, a large stroke free spindle random orbit (like a Rupes but with WAY more power), and a forced rotation epicycloidal pattern machine just like the Flex. How...

    How do/would you charge employees?

I've always preferred piecework. As their knowledge increases so will their production and therefore pay. Also, it makes it a little more straightforward when it comes time to fix errors--either they do it on their time (not the clock) or another detailer will and charge back the cost to the...

How many cars can I do with 32oz m205?

Right, so do I. I'm referring to using it by machine with a MF pad as opposed to a foam pad. In addition to the increased absorption by the MF pad, the entire process benefits from a wetter working cycle.

How many cars can I do with 32oz m205?

I agree with the consensus of ~15 cars. When using it with a MF finishing pad (GREAT combo!) that number goes down due to higher use, but I still find it an outstanding value and I will never be without.

looking to get my first rotary

I agree to test the waters first! In regards to the DeWalt, why not just get a new dwp849x? Then you get the soft start. Some careful shopping will have it to you for $168. Then, down the line, if you like rotary buffing you can get a Flex and either keep the DeWalt for heavy jobs (like...
