    Greasy Mess from dealer

I’m sure they mean well. And to someone that doesn’t care (or really, know better), it’s a good enough job. But I think spending the time with it and doing the job properly is why people say “Wow! It looks better than new!” Because people assume that how it looks from the dealer is how it’s...

    Greasy Mess from dealer

Update: did a little bit of work this afternoon after work. Mike, as always, was spot on for the tires. Meguiar’s wheel and tire cleaner full strength, and lots of scrubbing with a tire brush. I went ahead and washed and clayed and put down some spray wax. I’ll tackle polishing another time...

    Greasy Mess from dealer

So they did get the tires. I believe what I’m seeing on the paint is just old, dried tree sap. But the tire dressing definitely did fling up to the paint. Interior has been hit too. Leather is super slick, instrument cluster and windows are disgusting, and the dash is oily. Sent from my...

    Greasy Mess from dealer

Doh. Yeah, important detail there. Yeah, I'm gonna polish it because there are some spots that need it. I would really like to try ceramic coating it just to make future maintenance easier, but I've never done one and they honestly intimidate me a little. I've got BF One Step that I've used a...

    Greasy Mess from dealer

Well, we pulled the trigger and got a new family hauler. 2018 Odyssey in red. I’m actually pretty happy with it since it’s not my daily [emoji23] But I need some input. I couldn’t get to them fast enough before the kid with a greasy towel got to it. It has been sitting on the lot for 4 months...

    Possible mildew in perforated seats

So long story short, my folks’ F150 Limited got rained on with the sunroof open and now they’re saying there’s a mildew-y smell. Being the Limited, it has perforated front seats for the heat and ventilation. I kind of worry that water got down into the foam and is stuck. They’ve taken out the...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Took the opportunity to wash mine (Mazda) and one-step the wife’s Tucson with BFOS. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the Tucson turned out considering it rarely gets washed and has never been polished.

Washed the baby hauler. Nothing like curdled formula under the car seat we had no idea about. [emoji58] Sent from my SM-G965U using Autogeekonline mobile app

    Microfiber cutting pads

The car actually belongs to my dad. I'm going over there tonight and I'll grab some pictures to capture the level of damage I'm dealing with. I think I'm ultimately going to end up two-stepping the car since what it will likely take to remove the defects in a noticeable fashion is not likely to...

    Microfiber cutting pads

Thanks for the suggestion! How well does Cutmax finish down? I can do two-steps if really need be, but it is a daily so it will continue to get abused. And would you suggest the cutting pads or the one-step

    Microfiber cutting pads

Hey everyone. I've got a pretty beat up 2011 Cadillac CTSin black coming my way for a correction. While I'm not looking to get the paint perfect, I want to give it the best I can. I've got an 8mm Maxshine polisher. Was looking at picking up some of the Griot's Fast Correcting Compound and some...
