Never thought of wet sanding actually, never tried it on rims. Has anyone ever done this? Would I do it just like wet sanding head lights, using compound/polish to buff out the scratches. I'm just wondering if I'll make them look worse if I can't buff out the wet sanding scratches because the...
Hi guys,
My dad used a Brillo pad on his rims and scratched them up pretty good. I'm thinking compound and a wool rotary to try to buff them out? I could use any suggestions you guys have?
That was so much fun to read. I love the results, unreal! Everytime I see you use a certain product/pad combo I want to run out and get it to achieve the same results. I know, I know, user experience, conditions etc... all affect it but what you do to cars is awesome! Thanks for the great...
I used 1000 and skipped to 2000, compounded and polished and the outside turned out fine. I know its weird how the inside is messed up to but its not the outside for sure. I think I'll just leave well enough alone. You have to accept when there's nothing more you can do I guess.....
My mom has a Chrysler Sebring with badly oxidized headlights. I wet sanded the outside and brought the clarity back pretty good but when looking closer the the problem extends to the inside! It still looks a little yellow or cloudy. How do you get to the inside or what do you use to clean it...
Ok, I'm looking to pick up some D151 to speed up my daily driver details. Most people don't want to spend the money for the extra steps for a full detail. My question is what is the duration for the protection after using this? 1 2 3 months etc...
I can always top it but I want to tell the...
Thanks for all the great suggestions, I really like those wheel brushes. I pick up one from harbor freight, looks somewhat similar, but it can't hold its shape well. These look real nice. So many decisions!
I have SwirlX and Ultimate Compound and Megs #83. Lets say I do some error correction with the rotary, using UC, which of these do you think I should follow up with on the DA to remove any holograms etc...?
I've actually tried this, no luck. It did help get a good bit off but not clean. A buddy of mine used to use an acid based cleaner when he detailed at his dads car dealership and that stuff took everything off. Also put streaks in some rims if they weren't careful. I'm wondering if my only...
How much time will really be saved? I know using the rotary is obviously faster. When you follow it up with a DA how long will you have to polish to remove the light swirls etc. left by the rotary? It's not correction but what would be involved in the final step with the DA and what type of...
I don't have ARO yet... I was wondering if it would do the trick? What is everyone else using to get the back of the rim clean. I notice b4 and after pics everyone love to show they can get it clean but what are they using to do it?
