Is there any way to "seal" a small paint chip without a clear coat?

Is there any way to tell if it's definitely single stage? If it is, will it blend in with the clear coat or be obvious that it was touched up? (my car is black) If I don't paint it, does wax/sealant alone work to protect from rust or no?

Is there any way to "seal" a small paint chip without a clear coat?

Quick newbie question. Someone hit my car and knocked off my mirror, also causing a few nicks in my paint that went straight through to bare metal. Before it rusts I want to seal it. I have an OEM touchup pen stick, but if I use this, how do I go about clear coating it? Would a wax work? The...

Help with this scratch (newbie question)

How can you tell that you've worn through the clear coat? I think most people use an actual polisher on a drill. So if that doesn't wear through, you must have to rub very very hard and very very long haha I applied a lot of pressure and rubbed hard but can't tell any difference in any of the...

Help with this scratch (newbie question)

What damage did you do and how did you do it? Isn't scratch x just a polisher? By hand, it seems like it would be hard to seriously damage anything. I have no idea how to find a good detailer or body shop. I've heard so many horror stories and I don't want to end up worse than I started. At...

Help with this scratch (newbie question)

How do you tell if it's primer? I don't seem to be able to catch my fingernail on it. You can only really see the scratch if you look hard. If it's too deep, what are my other options? Who can fix it?

Help with this scratch (newbie question)

Thanks, that's what I figured. Do you think the hand scrubbing with the scratch x I've already done has caused damage to my clear coat? I'm debating just trying to ignore it. Would any kind of polish or wax help in this case or no? I do have the Honda touch up paint for my car. Is that an...

Help with this scratch (newbie question)

I just bought a Honda Element (black). After owning it for a few weeks I noticed a scratch along the entire passenger side of the car. Looks like a branch or something side swiped it at some point. Not sure if it was there when I bought it or not honestly. Pics attached here. Sorry for the...

    Help with order of things...

Hey guys. Just got a new car. It's bright red. I don't go crazy with detailing usually. My process typically includes a thorough wash with meguiars, meguiars cleaner wax, and then collinite. With this car I'd like to get a little more involved. Here is what I'm thinking: Clay, then cleaner...

Cleaning road salt (from underneath too)

Sorry, it's new to me, not new. It's a 2000 but in great shape underneath and I just want to keep it that way. I will only be up there for a week...not sure if I want to put a layer of stuff underneath it. Especially if a wash underneath with a pressure washer will get most of it.

Cleaning road salt (from underneath too)

Hey guys. I live in NC. Just got a new jeep and don't have to worry about treated roads here, but I'm making a drive up to New york in a couple weeks and I'm wondering what I should do when I get home to remove road salt from the car and underneath. Should I just spray it down? I will probably...

Best way to clean water spots on glass?

Is there anything that will help that doesn't contain acid or doesn't require a DA? It doesn't really effect my visibility or anything. It's just a cosmetic thing and annoying.

Best way to clean water spots on glass?

Hey guys. I've done everything to try and get the water spots off of my Jeep's windshield and tinted glass on the hardtop. I've used glass cleaners, elbow grease, even clay bar and it still looks like this (see pics). Any tips?
