    Need help removing Tar

Denatured Alcohol from the local hardware store does a nice job with tar.

    Job scheduler

I've been looking for a new calendar/planner for the front counter at the shop and I was wondering what you guys are using. I'd like to use one that I can have enough room to write job details, contact info, etc.

    RO System

Thanks! I'll check with my guy tomorrow about options. I've got a lot to learn.

    RO System

Fortunately, my shop is in a town with really good and soft water, but I asked the RO guy to come give me a bid on Monday to see if it's even possible. Are these setups a must have for most detail shops out there? I know it'd be good for our mobile wash van tank, but it won't be out until next...

    New Detail shop booming

From experience when hiring, it's usually been better to hire someone with no detailing experience. That way you can train them the way you want it done. I saw this at another detail shop that I was visiting out of state and thought it was a good starter idea.

    New Detail shop booming

Sounds exciting! I went from mobile to having a shop just about two years ago and it's been crazy busy ever since! Now I have the shop AND back out with a mobile van as of last September for car washes only. Word of mouth is the best advertisement. It's the greatest help and it can be the...

    Clean vs Sanitary

We see this stuff ALL the time! I'm considering steamers and Tornador and the customers are going to have to pay for it!

    C Quartz??

Any suggestions on brand to use? Cost effective and works well? This is a new thing for me, but I'm liking what I'm seeing and reading online so far.

    C Quartz??

I'm getting more and more customers in my detail shop that are inquiring about a clear coat application, such as what I've seen on AutoGeek. Any of you guys used anything like this? Pros and cons.

    Tire shine

I like the up-sell idea! We use an applicator for most tires and spray only the knobby mudding tires. Right now, we testing a Simoniz dressing that came highly recommended. I'm going to give the Meguiar's a shot as soon as they return my call with pricing. Thanks for the awesome feedback!

    Tire shine

Seems like I'm always trying a new tire shine. What are some names you guys are using? I don't like greasy messes or fake looking tires. Just a good clean shine. We're detailing a couple cars every day, not including the washes and other packages, so I need it to be cost effective. Thanks!
