I think your backing plate came in contact with the paint. It especially would make sense when you were polishing the headlights as the pad and backing plate would be perpendicular to the bumper and could easily make contact if not careful/not experienced. Same thing for the door handle.

Those sales are few and far between. They had the house brands (Pinnacle, Blackfire, etc.) 40% off on March 25. Also regularly check the sites for those manufacturers (for example Pinnaclewax.com) as they have their own sales and sometimes will have pretty good sales.

Pinnacle Rubber and Vinyl Cleaner and Conditioner might be an option. I know Mike Phillips uses it for tire cleaning/conditioning.

I applied leftover Opti-coat 2.0 to the faces and barrels of my ram 2 years ago and they still look like new with regular cleanings using wheel woolies to reach the barrels. I will definitely be using a coating on all new or in good condition wheels in the future.

If you are only applying Hydr02 to yours you are totally sane, nothing to worry about! :laughing: I have since coated the rear flap, rear discharge chute and mulch plug. Made a huge difference from before the coating as the grass clippings can be rinsed off of these areas with the hose now...

I like this product also, but the tires do seem to need to be scrubbed clean in order for it to work properly, just like you said. I have used it on tires and then reapplied to those same tires after the next wash. If I only use car wash shampoo to scrub the tires during that wash the dressing...

I would try the 3M on a dry panel and see i it works better. Try it on a couple of the tar spots on a dry panel and let it dwell. You should see the spots start to liquify. The water may be interfering with the effectiveness. Stoner Tarminator is a product that has always worked well for me...
