Well, all the sun does is shorten the lifespan of certain waxes on your paint. If you have a caruanba wax on your car, by having the car outside often, the sun would just wear it down. But then, since it's the summer, you can fairly easily reapply another layer with just with a QD clean-up. But...

Both of us pretty much have the same questions, it should be merged, lol. Anyways, It seems to me that 476 is more of a paste wax, typically being harder to apply/remove, similar to the Klasse twins. I think going the Collinite 915 paired with Duragloss 105 route would be the best.

It's actually road salt and dirty snow that can splash up to your doors and front of the car. It also does well against rain, beacuse rain can be somewhat acidic depending on where you live.

There are so many different choices for Collinite Waxes for winter protection. I'm wondering what are the differences between all the different ones, are some sealants and others waxes? Which are carnuaba and which are synthetic? Which has to be a LSP and which can be topped with carnuaba waxes...

Thanks a lot for the compliments! It's a 6spd automatic w/ shiftronic or whatnot, so not a stick, but still pretty good. It's not exactly swirl free, I can still see some under halogen lighting. I'll be sure to work in XMT 360 better on my next detail. The paints in good condition...
