I used FG400 on a microfiber cutting pad and SF4000 on a finishing pad with my Rupes 21 and the lhr75.
We also have another 1969 Mercury Cyclone like the orange one, that is a different edition. Once both cars are polished, I will post the write-ups and get some decent pictures of both cars...
Thanks for all the comments!
Both of the cars were restored by the same person, but as you can see the orange Cyclone is in much need of some polishing work. Polishing my dad's car was a nightmare. There are places on the car that are almost impossible to get to, so I wasn't in the mood to...
This detail was a little different, because I wasn't getting paid. However, this was for my dad and his regular attendance of local car shows should be excellent advertising for my business.
The car was reasonably clean as all of our cars are garage kept.
After a quick waterless wash...
Thanks for all the comments! For those who were interested, I use a combination of Menzerna polishes and microfiber cutting pads and foam polishing pads on all my details.
I yell at my dad about the same thing when he goes to a car show. I gave him some plush microfiber towels and some detail...
I recently purchased a Mytee Lite II 8070 and I couldn't be more happy.
Also, am I the only person who saw the guy in the video extracting the carpets on the hood of the car? LOL.
Thanks for all the comments!
I really like this brush because I don't feel comfortable using something more aggressive when working on carpets that I can't afford to replace if they are damaged. I have two of them, one for leather and one for carpets.
For some reason I didn't take any before...
I did this car for the president of my dad's car club (my dad is the vice president).
This is probably one of the cleanest cars anyone has brought me as you can see in the before pictures.
The defects in the paint were fairly difficult to photograph, but these two pictures were the best I...
This car had been "detailed" previously, but the owner brought it to me because he wasn't happy with the condition.
Liquid wax everywhere.
Started the wash off with the wheels.
Strip wash.
Clay was picking up some contaminants.
Condition of the paint.
On to...
Not too many pictures on this one.
Before.
Condition of the paint.
Starting the paint correction.
Paint finishing out pretty nicely.
Opti Coat applied.
I let the coating cure for a while in the garage, so it was a little dusty when I took this picture.
Thanks for...
I have the Positector 200 Adv model and it reads non-metals only. You have to buy the 6000 probe for it in order to also be able to read metals. However, you can use the body of the gauge for both probes.
ETA:
As he said you can transfer the thickness readings to another device through wifi...
Thanks everyone for the compliments!
To be completely honest, I bought the Adam's Patriot Wax because it came in a CNC machined container that happens to be about the coolest thing I have ever seen! However, I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use and the results I got from the Patriot...
These were two cars I did back during the summer that I had forgotten I had taken pictures of. I was a little pressed for time so I didn’t have any pictures of the polishing work. Both cars got a strip wash, iron cut, clay, and a one step polish.
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
