This has been a great thread. I just received the VIP email that has the Meguiar's MF kit on sale. Unfortunately, only the 5 inch kit is on sale - I really want the 6 inch kit. Since it comes with the backing plate it may be worth it. It sounds like this is a great system. Did someone say...

I completely agree that the 5 in backing plate with a set of 6.5 in pads is a mistake - I am not sure why the kit is sold that way. Good question for customer service!

Being new to using the DA polisher, I may have put too much on the pad at times and not cleaned it often enough. I will back off on the product next time and clean the pad (on the fly) after a maximum of two panels. I did try masking tape on a couple of areas, but you have to move the tape...

Follow-up... I kept going back to the car and using the Ultimate Compound and I got all the swirls out! I just had to push a little longer and with more pressure, but they came out. Thanks to Mike for his great advice. It did make me realize that a DA polisher would be really nice to...

So I used the Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and got passionate with the applicator. I definitely diminished the swirls, but they are not completely gone. Should I go at it again but get more aggressive with the application?

OK...I found some Ultimate Compound at my buddy's house. He had ScratchX as well, but he agreed with the recommendation of using Ultimate Compound. I will let the car cool down here for an hour or so and then get to it! Thanks for all the great advice...I will let you know how it turns out.
