A few years back I worked for ford. At that time they went right from rinsing the car to claying, never even dried it until after clay. Some of these were brand new cars off the trailer. Imo good clean water is the way to go. Of couse manufactuers of QD'S and clay lubes will tell you otherwise.

I detail only as a hobby for now. I think mobile and having a shop would be excellent choices but Myself I would find it hard to run both because you can only be on one job at a time. On the other job you have to trust the people representing you to do the right thing.

I use 800 grit sandpaper followed by 1000 then 1500. Then follow up with polish and sealant. It is very cost effective this way and some lights can be done with just m105 and m205.

Dunno I have not tried the hot shine but the megs gold class endurance is good stuff. Endurance gives a good shine the only thing that I dont care for is it doesnt hold up to long.
