Looking to upgrade from a Porter Cable

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. Really appreciated. Sounds like I might as well keep the PC for now and try some other pad choices first before getting another machine. I currently have the thicker hydrotechs, so I'll give some thinner pads a try and a 3" backing/pads for now. Maybe the...

Looking to upgrade from a Porter Cable

I'm thinking about upgrading from my PC 7424xp. Some background: I've had it for roughly three years. I owe it a lot of thanks as I was pretty terrified of trying my luck at detailing my own car. Knew nothing at the time and thought I'd just add more swirls or make the car worse. With the...

    New windshield film/residue

I recently had to have my windshield replaced. I've tried several glass cleaners and simply can not get the inside clean. Whatever I use, when I wipe it off, the cleaner just rubs around almost like its sitting on oil. And the worst part is the awful haze when the sun hits just right. I can't...

Review w/Video - Gtechniq G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass

I've had G1 on my windows for a few months now. Windshield was well cleaned with the gtechniq glass polish prior to G1. 3 coats were applied to the windshield. Problem I'm having is beading off the glass is incredibly slow. Almost like the beads are sticking. Anything below 50mph or so I have to...

Car Pro Iron X or Iron X Soap Gel?

Bought some TR.IX in my last order and also got a free bottle of the Soap Gel thanks to AG’s great sale. Have a few questions about them. Since I also picked up Dr.Colorchip with this order, can both of the above products be used once the chip repairs have cured (30days). I really bought the...

    polishing exhaust tips

Love this stuff. My 2stroke exhaust pipe gets constantly assaulted with burnt on mud. I use either the p21s or mothers mag wheel and aluminum polish with a terry cloth. 0000 fine steel wool for the stubborn stuff.

    Leather Product

I have these as well and really like them. The cleaner has a great scent and after wiping the cleaner off, there is no residue left over. Nice and smooth. Downside is I have beige interior and sometimes the WG lacks the bite to get some of the dirt out. When the seats get bad, I've moved on to...

Some Wolfgang Products - Brief Lessons Learned

New to detailing and the Wolfgang line has just made it so easy to get great results. I had previously used a few off the shelf meguiars and mothers products. Compared to those, Wolfgang polishes/sealants/wash/interior products are all much easier to use for me. Long work times with the...

Advice on the best products for a noob

Concentrate on proper wash technique and you won't need a polisher or any compound/polish for a while. Two 5 gallon buckets and grit guards. Quality wash mitt and auto shampoo. Ive tried only a few washes compared to the pros on this site but I really like the optimum car wash as well as the...

This is the best detailing forum by far

I agree with the OP. Unbelievable wealth of information on this site. Mature members always willing to give advice and support from the AG staff themselves! I never would have attempted anything other than a wash on my car without the help of these forums. I have saved and will continue to save...
