How to know if existing wax/sealant is stripped off?

I need to strip the existing sealant (collinite) off for spray on sio based sealants like carpro reload/gyeon cure. Usually I just use a polish (like Megs ultimate polish) and don't bother with an alcohol wipedown because it is not necessary with collinite. And any water would fly off and bead...

How to know if existing wax/sealant is stripped off?

How do I know if the existing wax/sealant is stripped off? Will the water sheet of very slowly like this waxmode video or is the squeeky feel when you rub over the paint? In this 9th gen video he says any water beading is due to the leftover oils in the clear coat after using dishwashing...

    Sonax bsd uv protection?

It was the advertising blurb from the AG store website. Collinite states- "Holds up month after month against harmful outdoor corrosives; UV, rain, snow, salt, dust, dirt, grime, bugs, staining and more" on its website. I'd rather having it a one step process for waxing/sealant'ing instead of...

    Sonax bsd uv protection?

Is Sonax bsd a full fledged sealant and has uv protection etc in addition to its great beading properties? I'm figuring out if I have to use it on its own or only as a topper. The FK1000p for example is advertised as having "heavy duty resistance to UV, hard water, acid rain, bug remains, tree...

What is best for removing light swirls from soft paint by hand?

Was it UC or swirlx that you used? How long did you have to polish each spot?

What is best for removing light swirls from soft paint by hand?

I'm trying to cut down on clutter and rarely polish, maybe I'll get an angle grinder with adjustable (low) speeds in future since I can use a grinder for other things. I can't get the specialty pads where I'm at and the shipping costs are high so its common yellow pads incl meguiars or cloth for...

What is best for removing light swirls from soft paint by hand?

Interesting, I was looking at the products you mentioned because I'm also polishing by hand (at least for now). What did you use to apply the Turtle wax polish? A normal sponge applicator? Anyone else have comments about swirlx/UC by hand? I used mothers stage 1 polish and it didn't do much for...

    Can these headlights be restored?

I use a durable sealant like collinite/fk-1000p on the headlights and apply it regularly. The picture in your op looks like the clearcoat on your lights have deteriorated badly. Without the protective layer of clearcoat or sealant/wax, the plastic headlight may yellow faster.

Necessary to strip old sealant before reapplying lsp a month later?

Yes, I just want to know if a refreshing the lsp especially durable sealants need the original layer to be stripped.

Necessary to strip old sealant before reapplying lsp a month later?

Say the car has Collinite 476 or FK1000p applied to it a month earlier following the usual wash/clay/polish/lsp steps and the paint is still in good shape after washing now without any need for claying. So would stripping the old layer of Collinite 476/FK1000p be worth the effort before applying...

    Pva sponges for polishing/waxing

I just saw them the in the supermarket auto aisle, individually wrapped without any brand or instruction label and I don't know what is their intended use (for cleaning/drying or waxing/polishing). I just thought that I liked the firmness instead of the normal squishy yellow waxing sponges.

    Pva sponges for polishing/waxing

Are pva sponges ok for use in polishing or waxing (lsp)? Or are would they suck up too much of the wax or polish and make it more difficult?

How do some of the current sealants compare?

Apparently DG105 came out later and is more durable than the 111. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/4721-duragloss-tpp-105-vs-ccp-111-a.html

How do some of the current sealants compare?

Are you saying that certain products do better than others depending upon the quality of prep work? Was the Autoglym EGP introduced earlier than the others and now considered a little behind the rest? I read reviews that Permanon wasn't up to par.
