I use a durable sealant like collinite/fk-1000p on the headlights and apply it regularly. The picture in your op looks like the clearcoat on your lights have deteriorated badly. Without the protective layer of clearcoat or sealant/wax, the plastic headlight may yellow faster.

Say the car has Collinite 476 or FK1000p applied to it a month earlier following the usual wash/clay/polish/lsp steps and the paint is still in good shape after washing now without any need for claying. So would stripping the old layer of Collinite 476/FK1000p be worth the effort before applying...

Are you saying that certain products do better than others depending upon the quality of prep work? Was the Autoglym EGP introduced earlier than the others and now considered a little behind the rest? I read reviews that Permanon wasn't up to par.
