If doing full details maybe but why clay if your car doesn't need to be? If the paint isn't contaminated why inducing marring? That is just more polishing work.
Polishing removes contaminates too but at the cost of your polish pads durability.
My decision to clay is driven by the level of...
I consider layering wax, sealants and particularly coatings a waste of time and money. Applying coatings should be a very methodical process, working in a small area and completing one panel at a time. If the reason for the second coat is missing areas then it is your application method that is...
Any clay will remove protection no matter how fine it is. Pinnacle description also advises of this
A finer clay will cause less marring and depending on paint condition it is possible to skip the polish step, moving straight to a protectant
Contaminants only sink into clay with pressure applied. It is not until you kneed the clay that they truly sink into the clay and are no longer pushed along the paint surface. If you rinse the clay mitt as often as you kneed clay then is there a argument that mitts could cause less marring...
To the best of my knowledge Zen Automotive Supplies (ZAS) is the Australian distributor for Optimum. They have spend extraordinary making Opti-Coat Pro the most recognised coating in Australia. They have spent tens of thousand in testing Opti-Coat with the CSIRO to backup the products claims...
Optimum have released new products in Australia under the Opti-Coat branding. Some are new, while some others are new formulations. Thought some of you might be interested. Not sure if these will make it your way
Just notice I linked the wrong thread due to BM1024's reply. My previous thread from last year was http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/91389-meguiars-d114-rinse-free-express-wash-being-discontinued.html
After Michael Stoops replied...
I would suggest the plan to discontinue this has been known for quite sometime. I first raised this over 12 months ago. Meguiars Australia told me it was a discontinued product - www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/104865-meguiars-d114-rinsefree-express-wash-discontinued-12.html
Placing vinegar in the fabric softener compartment is fine. It grabs the vinegar at the start of the rinse cycle. I can't open my front loader mid cycle. Even if I could I wouldn't want to keep an eye out for the rinse cycle to add my vinegar
Concrete proof! What type of proof you after? Companies spend tens of thousands of dollars on R&D creating and improving their products. There is even plenty of forum members that conduct their own tests and share the results.
