The Optimum maintenance products are designed with a chemical synergy to perform best with Optimum coatings. Would be cool to see a side by side comparison using Opti-Seal or Hyper Seal vs another brand like Gyeon.
You can call Optimum and check the vin to find out if it is Opti-Coat Pro or OC 2.0 or Gloss Coat. Either way polishing to remove the swirls will remove the coating. You could try a decon wash to see if it still beads water too. But probably just going to want to polish it if you're a detailer...

The black residue is mostly from the safety guard that the backing plate rubs on, some may be from the pad washer/polish.
We run on speed 3-4 90% of the time with the occasional 5-6. Pads are buff n shine maroon. Bolt used to back out every time we used it when we first got it. Then we tightened it really tight with blue threadlock and haven't had any issues since.
