here is my worst one that i have on record. This was done with a pc and poorboys ssr1 there is no wax on it at this stage. I didnt even know what color it was till it was buffed.
Here is a pic of how well ssr1 with a orange pad and the pc worked. I wasn't able to get it much better even using the 3 step process and taking a chance with thinning the paint too much.
Yea I was trying to get the oxidation off. I was super surprised how well my first pass with the orange pad and ssr1 combo worked. I'll post pics of it. I didn't get much if any more by using the 2 and 3. It was going to turn into too many processes by going from 3 to 1 without much...
Ok I'm working on my buddies 1993 Mercedes station wagon. It's laquer paint. I first started with ssr1 and the orange pad and that did a good job. Paint was really oxidized. I didn't get any real correction with this product and I knew this wouldn't do it all. I got some other poorboys...
really made a big difference when i started using more product... made thing s look geat. my buddy came ove tonight and he thought i painted the car. made me feel like i was getting somewhere. thanks alot guys for all your help.
ok well it sounds like im making a few mistakes. first im just using a couple small dabs of product on each spot. its gone in seconds. i also caused some trouble using the orange pad. why does my orange pad have circular spots on it? thanks alot kevin
i have a question. why does the polish im using break down so fast? ive been watching some vids and it seems like when they are polishing the product is creamy for a long time and has to be wiped off to check the work. i dont have to wipe off anything its gone in one or two passes and i mean...
one other thing. how much product should i be using on each section. I dont get to actually use the polish long it seems to dissapear after the first swipe over each spot. Almost like im buffing with nothing on the paint. kevin
so is marring the very fine scratches im seeing? Also if the orange and ssr2 isnt enough to get out the bigger scratches how is it going to get rid of the smaller ones with a weaker pad? ie using the white pad with the ssr2. thanx for all the info. Kevin
pampos you are the man. YOUr work is top notch. please tell us some of your secretes. I hava a black mustang that im having issues with and you may be the man to help me. i have the usuall small scratches and no real swirling just the dang scratchs. very thin and in the clear but i know i...
thanx for the reply. They really arent swirls like a buffer would make, more like very small fine scratches. I took pics of it but i cant figure out what setting to use to get them to show up. if i take the pic towards the light which is how they really show up you cant see anythng but...
Ok i have a few more questions. I was trying tonight to check my work out with the halogen lamp system. Well that was a bad idea for me to buy it. I have a black 93 mustang and i had already used the poorboys ssr1 with the orange pad and i thought i had it really good. Yea right until i...
you guys and gals are great. thanx alot for the fast reply. I am doing this in my garage and dont have the proper lighting to really see swirls so there may be some more work needed. I will go purchase a lighting setup tomorrow before i go any further. So using a polish thats pretty weak...
