    Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

Just finished reading all 50 pages of this thread...now my head hurts. LOL When applying the 50/50 spar mixture... are people folding the shop towel to the same height of the lens and making one pass across? Or just overlapping a couple smaller passes across the lens? What is the minimum cure...

    Poorboys for headlight restoration?

If I can't discs/backing plates locally, I'll end up ordering it online(here or someplace a bit closer). BTW: Anyone know if Meguiar's 105/205 are similar to SSR1 or SSR2.5 ? I don't want to order the Meguiar's and find out the PB stuff I have will do the same thing.

    Poorboys for headlight restoration?

Never thought of that. Def gonna buy some discs then. Do any actual stores(Pepboys, Home Depot etc) carry velcro backplates/sanding discs?

Some say you should only wetsand in straight lines(vert/horiz)....is there any truth to this?

    Poorboys for headlight restoration?

Do most people wetsand by hand or by machine w/sanding discs? I'd like to be as efficient as I can be and keep each resto as short as possible.

    Headlight restoration 50/50.

I'm guessing that the urethane filled the micro scratches and leveled them...making them invisible.

    Poorboys for headlight restoration?

Does this mean I need to let the headlight lens cool in between polishing steps? (i.e. polish with SSR1....5 minute wait....polish with ssr2.5) Is doing the headlight in the shade enough to keep the headlight cool or should I run a fan on the headlight as I polish?

Is using my DA safer(less heat) to use than using a cordless drill?

    Poorboys for headlight restoration?

I realize the "be careful" thing, but I was just curious if there are certain headlights that CAN'T be wetsanded etc or would adversely react to polishes or sealants.

    Poorboys for headlight restoration?

I already own all of the Poorboys polishes and pads etc. Only thing I have to buy is the Helmsman aerosol spray to seal the headlights.

    Poorboys for headlight restoration?

I'm thinking about doing some headlight restorations in my spare time. I don't want to buy a bunch of supplies upfront, so hopefully I can start out with the stuff I detail my car with. This is what I have: PC 7424 & Cordless drill - Poorboys SSR1, SSR 2.5, PWS - Duragloss 105 and 671 - LC...
