What to do with Wet, Used Microfiber Towels?

Not the kind of VIPER I want at my house.

    IPA - or Denatured alcohol

After seeing several mention of MSDS I decided to check it out and was surprised that there are numerous sites offering this for free. Which one do you recommend regarding usability and completeness?

Teflon polish-anyone use it on cars

I used Teflon polish 30 years ago, I thought it worked well then. I assume the modern coatings are far superior to a wax with Teflon in it from 30 years ago.

    Best All Around Polishing Compound?

I would expect it to dust less since the Gold was specifically formulated for a long working time. Can you give us more detail on on cut and finish? What do you follow it with?

    Best All Around Polishing Compound?

I would check out the Autopia Polish Comparison Chart. What I would like to know without buying all those compounds is what level of aggressiveness do they diminish too. It sounds like Menzerna FG400 is the favorite. I was extremely impressed with the video of Scholl's S3 Gold Edition that I...

    This blows chunks

Well it was quite frustrating. Had to stop what I was doing and try to figure things out plus clean up the mess. I also figured out I wasn't getting the Flex completely flat, it's quite difference then the old 10" low speed orbital polisher I use to have. It eventually turned out quite nicely...

    Best All Around Polishing Compound?

It was wrong to look at it as just pure amount of working time. A better way to look at it is a polish that has adequate working time in every circumstance. I would say my second criteria and probably equal to the above would be one that starts off very aggressive but diminishes to very fine.

    Best All Around Polishing Compound?

My first thought as well. In my opinion long working time is the top attribute for a polishing compound. What would be your top choices under that criteria? Probably helpful if you estimate the working time. I've seen videos that considered 1 minute a fairly long working time but I have...

    This blows chunks

Thanks Mike and everybody! I only did 2 sections so it didn't occur to me the pad needed cleaning already but being such an old car that does make sense. This is my practice car before I move on to our new cars.

    This blows chunks

Old timer/newbie here, I used to detail back in the 80s. Put some of my new toys to the test today. Flex 3401, LC Orange pad, Mckee's 37 Fast compound on a 9 year old black Scion. Washed and then decontaminated the car with Iron X and Clay. Then dried it and put 3 large dabs of compound on my...

When Did This Get So Complicated?

My problem with a bazillion products is apparently some don't play well together and since I am not doing this as a profession I don't want to test them all. Also certain paint jobs preferring certain products presents the same challenge.

When Did This Get So Complicated?

I found my Klasse AIO, Klasse sealant and Mothers Clay bar kit tonight. I also have some Wizards Shine Master that was given to me at the Viper plant. Still struggling with which products can or should be used together. I got the Klasse a while back when I read on a car forum that it was...

When Did This Get So Complicated?

The advent of the clear coat came shortly after i got into the detailing business and ultimately led to me getting out of the business, since everybody was sure they would have perfect paint forever. Now I am getting back into it almost 3 decades later because I'd rather detail my cars than have...

    Least aggressive method

If you decide you need to be a little more aggressive, do you go with a more aggressive compound or more aggressive pad first?
