    Clay bar weekend project

Well it took me 7 1/2hrs from start to finish. That was wash, clay, cleaner wax and then ultimate wax. I wasn't impressed with the cleaning power of the cleaner wax myself. It did help, but not a whole lot. Honestly the car is almost 12yrs old and my daily driver, so I don't want nor do I expect...

    Clay bar weekend project

Thanks for the info. Yea my intent was to try and to it in one day tomorrow depending on how the weather is. I had used the meguiars cleaner wax more than 10yrs ago. It was the liquid and it was a pain in the ass to get off. I'm trying the paste this time so hopefully it will be different. I...

    Clay bar weekend project

I 'm planning on using a clay bar on my bright red 04 audi this weekend. As far as I know it has never had it done. I plan on using mothers clay bar, followed by meguiars cleaner paste wax and the finishing with meguiars carnauba paste wax. All of this by hand. I know I need to have a...

Since the problem areas are the hood, roof and trunk where would the safest place be? They are all highly visible.

Well maybe if I dont get that kit ill try using UP. I rather start out too weak than too strong. I have a tendency to over buy so. I dont plan on using all that much pressure at first since I will be doing it by hand. I do know though that I have to put some pressure behind it so it can do its job.

    Cleaning, clay bar, waxing help..

Ok then thanks for the info... Which one will be rite for my cars?. My main issue is that I don't want to scratch them up... I haven't used a compound or a cleaner wax personally in almost 10yrs.

Thanks for the input... I feel you with the MF towels, thats not an issue.. I have a few already and I can get those from anywhere. As for the wax I have always liked carnuuba wax, but that's just me. I don't have any issue with buying the Ultimate wax at a later time. I was thinking in terms of...

    Cleaning, clay bar, waxing help..

All them carry the line, but only select products. I know that's strange. Walmart had everything that the other stores didn't have, and everything was at a cheaper price. Walmart had the UP as well as the UC. I even saw a Meg's kit that looked interesting as opposed to buying everything...

Now for the ones that suggested UC or UP. I'm new so bear with me as I'm still trying to get the abbreviations down. UC = Ultimate Compound Polish and UP= Ultimate Wax. Is this correct?

I would really prefer not to compound for two reasons. First I will be doing it by hand, Second I have never felt comfortable enough to use compound. Heard to many horror stories. Just being honest with what I feel comfortable with.

    Cleaning, clay bar, waxing help..

I have been looking on this site for awhile and found helpful information on this site in the past. I recently noticed that two of my cars seem to have what almost looks like very faint oil spots from tire dressing splatter. On the hood, trunk and roof. I know that's not what it is, I think...
