Thank you. Do you prefer IPA vs MS for the wiping prior to coating? I know IPA is a water magnet and evaporates quicker. Which one is better to remove the GlassWeld if you make a mistake?

I know everyone has their own preferences but what are your thoughts on highest level of sanding? 2000 , wipe, apply gclear 2500, wipe, apply gclear 3000, wipe, apply gclear I didn't include buffing/polishing to leave a bit of "tooth". If I were using Spar I would go up to 3000

Thanks for that insight usmcpab. I think that's probably the case. I'm one of those perfectionists though, so it irks me not to know EVERYTHING! :hungry:

This was the post I was referring to about streaking, where the lights came out great, but a few months later the streaking appeared. Jeff did you chalk that up to not applying a thick enough coating, or not curing with the actual UV light? Are you still using Glasweld Gclear with the UV light...

Remember no question is a dumb question. I am still learning myself but from my understanding the the mineral spirits does help "thin it out" while applying to the headlights without streaking. When it is very hot out, or windy you may need to increase the ratio of mineral spirits in your mix...

Do you know how much of that cost is for the UV light? I'm asking to try to find out how much it would cost per car once I have the light. (if that kit can average 16 cars)

When I first read about GlasWeld, I thought this was it. But then I saw some examples of one guy who had I think it was 4 out of 50 come back with streaks between 4-6 months. Then I was very disappointmented.

I think for people that are in lower UV areas the Spar is the way to go because of how cheap it is. I just don't see why someone hasn't developed the product we are all looking for. Even if it was more expensive held up for 3-5 years regardless of UV exposure.

I wouldn't be to worried about power. Currently I have used a drill, and also done some work by hand. Although using a inverter on the go could be a solution for the UV light. I also have a few hundred feet of outdoor extension cords. My biggest concern is over spray, if I am able to pick up...

I was leaning towards OL at one point while reading but then I saw people reporting same as you (failure sooner than I'd like). The predicament that I find myself being like many others, is doing this on the go. If I had a shop or indoor garage to use regularly I would consider something more...
